My Halloween

So, my Halloween. This is how the skies looked, perfect eh? Still no snow down here, but it is all over the mountains above us.

I opened a bottle of wine, the fireplace is going and I lit my candles. It was very pretty. Actually that's alot like every night, so nothing new there.

I watched a Halloween movie marathon most of the day....the SCREAM movies are my favorite, but the
Halloween Movie sequels, and the Friday the 13th sequels...those were so cheesy. Geez, how many times can you kill Michael Myers?? Now I love the first Halloween, but the rest were pretty bad.

And why do all the girls fall when they are running? Or why do they always run upstairs when the killer is chasing them?? And why are the girls usually half-nekkid??

I used to love scary movies, but kind of stopped watching them when I started living in the forest alone. I realized tonight, that most of them are so silly I'm not sure what I was scared of. Now, if the scary movie details are something that I believe could really happen to me, then I don't watch.
I'm not normally scared here believe it or not. I do feel safe. The worst crime we've had here in three years is mailbox baseball. And that happens every year.
I lock my doors, I have dogs and I have guns. I really don't get too scared very often. Now, when creepy guy down the road was giving me problems, then I was scared.

But just sometimes, when I think about what little boogeyman could possibly be out there..it does give me the creeps. Plus, I can't watch the Exorcist at all. Uggh, talk about not sleeping!

I did watch the first
Friday the 13th today...and I almost laughed through the whole thing. Did this used to scare us?? I remember this scared the bajeezus out of me when I first saw it. Today it was funny.
I have to say the the
SCREAM trilogy is my favorite. All three were good to me, and I hear a 4th might be coming out.

It's getting dark so early now, like 5pm. No way of getting out of feeding the herd in the dark. I'm pretty sure the bear are gone, I've left bird feeders out now for a week and they haven't been touched. We do now have a mountain lion issue around here. The hub was called to a home the other day for a mountain lion attack on a dog, AND....a mountain lion came up and took a small dog right off someone's front porch. Nice, eh??

Oh well, so is life in the wilderness. Hope you all had an awesome Halloween and I'm going to get back to my scary movies:)

Thrilled

This is Spazz.
She's the only animal in this house that would let me put these on long enough to get a photo.

What a sport.
She's looks happy about it doesn't she?

Halloween Present

Hey all of you SCHLEP on over to Neil's blog. Mr. Blogebrity mentioned me today :)
I think in a nice way he's saying I'm one of those crazy people that live in Montana.
He may be right.

Happy Halloween!

It's starting out a perfect Halloween morning. It's raining very hard. I'm already soaked...:) Today's our anniversary, hubby's in CA, but I did get the cutest e-card this morning. We will be celebrating our anniversary on Friday when we go see Seinfeld in Helena. Can't wait.

Two different blogs this morning mentioned me:) Probably sounds silly, but it was just a nice thing to wake up too.

The next
VECCS meeting is on a cruise to the Bahamas in April. Cool. I think. I've heard good and bad stories about cruises, so we'll see.
The February trip to Alaska is also in the works. I'm definitely ready for a trip :)

Halloween Eve

Today's weather.
Doesn't this look like something from a movie?
All spooky and misty?

Bored

Just playing around with leaves :)

No Fair

Did you know I can't watch the Cowboys play here? Only on monday night football.
The Cowboys are playing today, but since I guess I'm way.up.here in the north, they think that I want to watch Minnesota & Carolina. Not fair.

**I don't wanna hear it, Marianna** :)

**Update--I just found JAWS on tv, so I guess TV-land made up for it :)**
***Update 2--Cowboys won--34-13. HooWah.***

Mail Art

I received mail art from
Laura! Isn't it beautiful? I didn't even want to open them they were so pretty. Inside one was an ATC card, which I'll post later, and also anniversary wishes. They are so cool, I may have to frame them! I also received Aster & Zinnia seeds from her Super-Sis Jen :) You guys are too cool. Thanks :)

Drafts

It's drafty here.
Not my house...Me.

I'm so full of drafts. Thoughts waiting to be posted. I think them up, I check them and recheck them. I edit them. I rethink, reword, spell-check them. Then I let them sit there. All in my head.

Then I do it in Blogger. I type many drafts. I spill my guts..I tell all. I release all these intimate feelings. Then I leave them there to gather dust.

Sometimes I actually post them, and then take them back.

I can't say all in my blog. Have you ever had those feelings that you can't even express in your journal? Or to your best friend? Then what? How do you express those huge emotions that are just sitting there in the files of your mind? I have all these thoughts filed away and no way to express them. No one to express them to. Some things you just can't share. Some things are meant to be filed away and left alone.

That's hard to do. Take an immense feeling and file it away forever. Act like it's not priority.

I see it as strength. To put it away is the right thing to do. Forget about it. Move on.
But, you don't move on, you don't forget. That file still jumps out at you with that big word DRAFT on it. Telling you that it's only temporary and it needs to go somewhere eventually.
So do you delete it? This HUGE feeling you have? Delete and forget?

No...delete maybe, not forget. I can't delete them. I've tried. So, it stays a draft.
DRAFT. Geez, I have many drafts filed away. I'm starting to hate that word.

I am such a closed file. I have friends, friends I would love to share some things with. But, I can't. Not because of them, but because of me.

And it's not that I'm not willing to share, but some things are just meant to be DRAFTS.

I guess in life when you have a draft, you try to close it or cover it with something so it can't get through. We all want to get rid of the draft.

I want to get rid of the draft too. But, I'm going to need a really really big blanket.
Or a really really big caulking gun.

MINSTREL

You are the Minstrel, the
artistic and introspective personalitys in
fantasy. Minstrels can range from court bards
to wandering performers willing to play their
instruments or sing in any inn they come upon
just to earn some money. Minstrels are very
creative and are naturally artistic. They are
often deep, quiet, and philosophical. Their
thoughts and ideas can be very profound.
Minstrels usually have a way with words or
music. These artists see the beauty around us
or delve within themselves and produce
something new that is truly
wonderful.

Any Volunteers?

I got This Story from Samantha. Check it out.

Then I want to see how many men would actually volunteer to do this.

Special Treatment

Ya'll remember the doe that eats out of my hands?? This is her over to the left.

I think she now has decided she's special.
Most of the deer that come here for corn show up at the same time. Like clockwork they are here first thing in the morning, then sometime in the afternoon, and then at night at last feeding for the horses.

Miss Special comes by herself. She wants to be fed seperately. She has learned (and I'm not crazy, really) to stand in a particular place in the yard where she can see me at my desk. She will stand there and stare at me until I come out and feed her. It's really pretty cool. It's not that cool though when the weather is yucky and I have to go out twice.

Way Back Wednesday

Way Back Wednesday theme this week is Halloween Costumes from the past, naturally.
You've all seen this one, but it's the only one I have. I can't seem to find any from childhood. Imagine that.

I do remember that the wig/hat was extremely hot along with the makeup. Both did not last very long that night.

I Drive Him Crazy

He says I drive him crazy.

Of course I do. That's intentional. I tell him he'd be bored if I didn't drive him crazy.

So why does the hub say that? Hmmph--plenty of reasons I'm sure, but I'm only going to talk about one today.

I have alot of pets. As many of you already know. And, they all have names, of course. But alot of them have TWO names. See, I name them one thing and call them another.
I try to think of creative names when naming my pets, either relates to how or when or where I found them, or just something different--No Rover or Fluffy.

Taylor--named after the doctor that saved her. Hub actually did the surgery but he wouldn't let me call her after his name. Actually she doesn't have a nickname.
Brock--actually from the show Reba. He is usually called Brock-Lee (broccoli) by the neighbor kids and it has just stuck.
Henderson (bless his little heart wherever he is) was named after the street we lived on/found him on in Fort Worth. Okay..this isn't working, I called him Henderson too.

Let's move on...

I have a cat named Chips, but I call him Tweet. (I actually had two kittens together named Chips & Salsa, but Salsa is no longer with us.)
I have another cat named Bustopher (from CATS) I call him Busta or Busta Rimes.
Tugger= Tugboat. (also from CATS)
Critter= BeeBee.
Grizzly=Grizzle.
Otis=Odie.

I'm not mentioning anymore because then you'll think I'm some crazy cat lady. No, I'm not!
They all answer to both names. He never knows which is which half the time.
That drives Hub crazy.
But, since he never calls any of them I'm not sure why he cares.
Oh and my cats do come when I call.

So that's installment one of how I drive him crazy :)
Next time?? Why I have so many different pairs of black shoes.....

Very Scary

This scares me. I can't even think of a response right now.
Very disturbing. It makes me sad.

I Like This :)

Amazingly captivating,
She wanders through clouds of passion;
Entire atmospheres, filled only with the stars she has so desperately wished upon.
A single gesture can electrify her;
Seemingly meaningless words reverberate through her mind,
And her descriptions of the world through which she wanders can only be received with the knowledge of their ridiculously menial validity.
For she is merely a solitary fraction;
A desire to escape her heaven is implausible.
She could forever dwell in the space between her beloved's thoughts,
While he swims futilely through a tundra
Of her most
Surreptitious dreams

Meandering Blither

Thanks Laura for that title. :)

It's hunting season. I just hate it. Daily I hear gunshots all around. It scares the dogs.
I get so nervous that one of my little deer family will not come back. I'm a weenie, I know.
Comes with living next to a national forest.

Brock seems to be doing alot better since being on pain medication. Whew. I actually hurt my ring finger when I was doing the heimlich. My finger swelled up and turned black and blue. I can't even get my wedding bands back on. Ha--Heimlich Injury. Big dog-Big chest.

Alot of people ask me if I stressed out last night. I don't actually stress out about the emergency as much as the fact that I can't get help soon enough.
There are a few emergencies I can handle on my own, or at least manage until I can get help.
I can handle most injuries, bleeding, or poisionings. I can stitch something if I need to...not beautifully but good enough.
But something that needs immediate attention and the nearest vet is an hour away....not fun. To top it all off last night, I couldn't find my car keys. Now THAT stressed me out. I rarely drive my car as it is...so I don't pay much attention to wear those are. My wallet is another thing I seem to misplace alot. Both I needed last night and couldn't find.

I'm so thankful that I have the skills necessary to handle some of this. My smaller dog Taylor tried the choking thing a few months ago, she was actually turning blue. I was able to pick her right up and push the object right down her throat...voila--she was fine.
I had two dogs that ate bad meat (very ick) I won't go into details (your welcome) but a little bit of hydrogen peroxide and voila--all better.
Respiratory infection?? I'm fine. Upset stomach?? Fine too. I can even handle seizures considering I have the doctor's medicine cabinet right here at my disposal.

One year I even had one of my little dogs jump into a pool in the middle of winter. Yep...she got so cold and couldn't swim and started sinking. I scooped her up with the net, dried her off and wrapped her in a heating blanket. She was white as a ghost. She survived.
Okay, that WAS a little stressful.
But choking??? Dog as big as me?? No thanks. I'll pass. Sick horses? I'll pass again.

The house is very calm and quiet today. Fireplace is going--smells good.
Oh and I did find my keys and wallet eventually. They were in my car.
Go figure.

Tired

Update on Brock:

So far everything is calm. I didn't take him into the vet this morning. He seems to be breathing and swallowing okay. He is eating and drinking so that is a good sign.
He seems to be in some kind of pain, but it could be from me trying to get him to cough up that obstruction. So, he's on pain meds and sleeping.

We'll see....

Thanks for your all the concern!! I'll keep ya'll updated. :0)

Not much else going on but that is okay with me.
Never started up the fire and it is cold today...may have to get on that.
No bear last night that I know of.
Critter has forgiven me for shutting his foot in the dryer door.

AOL is giving me real pains today too. Uggh.

Never A Dull Moment

More excitement in Montana.

Where do I start? I'm sitting here on the computer when Brock comes running to me choking. Yes, choking.
My 100# dog is choking and stressing out.
He was very stressed and vomiting alot of foam all.over.the.house.
Uggh.

I tried my best to try to reach down his throat and either pull out the object or push it down. This is not easy when a dog weighs almost as much as you do.

I tried the usual. He's pink..he's breathing ( heavily), all important. I tried the heimlich maneuver on him which was not easy as big as he is. No luck.
Called hubby (in California, of course)..he had me sedate him, IV...alone....yeah ok.
I have to say I was pretty impressed to hit a vein on a stressed out dog alone. (gold star for me)

Called the ER vet in Sandpoint (45 minutes away) to be on standby.
Called closest neighbor to help me. Neighbor was not home, but left a message.
Brock is totally stressing out on me. As I'm getting dressed being prepared to take him to Sandpoint, reaching for something in the dryer, Critter sticks his paw in there and gets his foot slammed in the door. So he's screaming as I'm trying to get the door back open. He runs downstairs away from me.

So, Brock is having issues...so is Critter. I've got Hub on the phone and he has the ER vet on the phone. Ugggh.
Neighbor shows up to help. Brock calms down. We get a flashlight and look down his throat. Can't see anything. Brock calms down. Is able to swallow food and water. Good sign. He's still pink. Good sign. By now my head is starting to hurt.

It's been a few hours since this all started. Brock is sedated and resting, but still crying alot. I have a feeling it will be a long night and I will be taking him into the vet in the morning.

I finally found Critter hiding under the bed. He's okay.

Sigh....

BooBees

Silence

It's very grey this morning. Or is it gray?
34 degrees, I never started the fire back up. It's a little chilly in the house this morning.
It's so quiet. And dark.
The candles are giving off that peaceful glow.
It's been quiet all weekend. I haven't seen a real person in two days.
The regular crowd has been here. Bear last night. Raccoons were here. The deer are here now.
There is a fog over the house that is very thick and almost a blue color.
It makes me feel even more isolated.

I don't mind isolation, or I wouldn't be able to live here. But the last few days have been different. I can't explain it either. I've been asked what's wrong--but I can't even tell.
Even the recluse needs an audience sometimes.
Of course I'm surrounded by an audience of furry faces.

Changes coming to the blog, I like it alot.
A new friend is creating it for me. She's very cool. She makes me laugh.
I could talk to her all day. Actually I did.
She hates the phone like I do. Perfect match.

Not long until Halloween. I love that day. Not much will be happening, but still.

Maybe I'll venture out into the fog. Should be some good pics.
The bear quit coming out during the day, so I should be safe.

Camera-check.
Jacket-check.
Phone-check.
Paintball gun-check.

Yes, they are still here. Nightly.
I haven't brought them up much since they really haven't caused many problems.

There's one here now. Laying in the front garden. Laying there! I say this many times I'm sure, but it's just wild to me that they hang out here like it's a, ummm, hangout.

If you could see my deck, which you could if it weren't still dark, there are big ole' wet bear paw prints all over it. They're kind of cute. Kind of.

Eh, I know this is a boring post.

Unmentionables

With all the not-fun stuff going on around here lately, I decided to write about something that's been a huge source of amusement around here the last couple of weeks.
Since the Hub rarely reads my blog, I think I'm pretty safe.

The Hub is a boxer man. No tighty-whiteys here. He has always worn the same kind, same cut for as long as I can remember.

Recently, the company that makes these has quit making them. You would think they had quit making Jack Daniels.

I have done some investigating, trying to find the kind he likes. No luck. So, we just have to come up with an alternative. He's not happy about this. Needless to say I had a bit of fun searching.

First I came up with these. Not bad, and they would look pretty good on him, I think anyway. He nixed that idea. Too tight. So, on to these. Nope, he didn't even think that was funny. So of course I had to do more research.

And of course I had to have a little fun with it....

How about these? Or these? Nope and Nope. Darn...I have to keep looking at men in their underwear. Darn again.
These had me rolling. Now, he decided that it wasn't funny any more and he would do his own shopping. Hmmph--fine.

He then says, "Well, you've always got
Victoria's Secret!" That's true. I do most of my unmentionables shopping there. *Hint*Hint. I'm a big fan of the pretty or cute undies.

This should be TMI Tuesday info, eh?

Anyway I guess my point here is that I can pretty much find what I want anywhere. I've never seen a man so picky on what kind of underwear he wears. I won't post what he decided on, just so I won't embarass him should he ever read this. BUT, I will say that it wouldn't have been my first

choice. :)

But we're even because I'm not wearing his first choice either.

Oh well, there's worse things to disagree about, and it was fun searching...tee hee.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Update-Stat!

All's okay.

Hubby stayed the night for some tests. If ya'll recall awhile back I posted about an accident he had with his horse. I'd look it up for ya, but I just don't feel like it right now.
Seems there's some injury still in the chest area from that and some fluid has built up. Nothing a little rest and antibiotics won't cure.
Unfortunately he's headed right back to California Friday morning.
I swear I think he'd have to be in a casket before he would stay home from work.

I'm going back today to meet up with him.
I couldn't play Way Back Wednesday...(again)...no "on the road" pics with friends. Geesh, I was boring. I could post just a "kidlet" pic. Maybe when I get back.

Thanks again to all of you for your kind thoughts and emails.
He did freak me out when he called me from Seattle with severe chest pains, and still chose to get on the plane to get to Spokane. Uggh. Doctors are the worst patients aren't they?
I was very nervous for that hour flight.
And as you know me, sleep didn't come too well either.

Anyway, he'll be home tonight and probably sleep alot.
His mother is going home today too.
I think I'll buy a 12-pack on the way home.

Tuesday, October 18

Just when ya thought.......

Well, here's an interesting turn of events:

I got a call late last night that Hub's mother had been rushed to the hospital for breathing difficulty.
She's still there, but she will be fine.

Hub just called me from the airport, he's also headed to a hospital for chest pains. I'm headed there now. He seems to be in alot of pain.
This has happened before and he was okay, but he doesn't usually go to the doctor on his own.

I'll keep ya'll informed.

**update-- He has diagnosed himself with Pleurisy. We'll see what happens. If this is the case, he will be there for a couple of days at least.

Like to Cook?

I just joined up with Insanity Infusion for The Cooking Cabal.
Sounds like fun, and if you like to cook and create...check it out :)

I'm off today to buy the ingredients for the first project.
Halloween theme, of course. Grab the camera too!

Monday's Over

It's warmer out this morning, still 60 degrees. I'm already tired of the woodstove...and it's only October. Geesh.
I tripped over Brock last night, in the dark, and almost broke my nose. I'm serious. And no Heineken was involved. What's the fun in that?
If I'm black and blue, I will not be happy. I already have a funny nose. Hmm...maybe it can be fixed??? :)

Hub comes home Wednesday morning, but then heads out again on Friday morning. This time of year his time home gets less and less. I see alot of snow-shoveling in my future.
Still looking for that ranch-hand :)

The bear have already been here. They just have not figured out that the container is empty yet. I assume they will keep checking until they hibernate. I guess I can't blame them...bear store up as much as they can so they can live on that fat while hibernating all winter.
So far, they have not figured out that the trash cans are in the back of the house. That's how you can tell these two are young. The older ones know exactly what to look for. Last season the bear took both of our trash containers and carried them out into the woods. We had to go search them out and bring them home.
I did find the hot tub lid open one night, which made me laugh. You think they wanted to take a dip??? Hmmm...bear soup.
Again, makes me laugh because the Hub always wants to get in the hot tub this time of year and I'm thinking...NO..I am not going to be "girl" stew. Nope. I'm not volunteering for that position.

I think that's why he's agreed to put a jacuzzi tub inside the house. Ahhh...can't wait.

Beautiful

Every day is so wonderful

And suddenly, it's hard to breathe

Now and then, I get insecure

From all the fame, I'm so ashamed

I am beautiful

no matter what they say

Words can't bring me down

I am beautiful in every single way

Yes, words can't bring me down

So don't you bring me down today

No matter what we do

No matter what they say

When the sun is shining through

Then the clouds won't stay

And everywhere we go

The sun won't always shine

But tomorrow will find a way

Cops & Cats

Well just not much to post about today. The bear are still coming back nightly to beat up the container. The 11 deer are in the yard now as I type this.
It's very dark and grey today, about 42 degrees.

The sheriff came by last night to talk to me about the "incident" with Hub's son. Obviously I can't go into detail right now, but it sure is scary what "might" have happened.
We talked for awhile and he told me to call him anytime if the bear cause trouble. That was pretty comforting. He's also the coroner.
Who'da ever thought I'd be friends with the sheriff/coroner?? Wierd.

My cats were all over him, which was pretty funny since he's allergic. He still let them crawl all over him. I thought that was cool :)
If any of you have cats, you'll know about this little furry mouse toy that you can buy at the store. It's small, sorta looks like a real mouse except it's usually pink or blue or orange.
My cats love these and I have to buy them constantly because they lose them. If Brock doesn't maul them, I find them under the fridge, or oven or couch. What's funny is they are always about "cat-arm" length under everything.
So, last night as I'm loading the woodstove, Critter is laying next to an armoire very interested in what's underneath. So I grab a stick and shove it under there to see what he's so interested in.
People, I pulled out 52 furry toy mice. 52! I was cracking up downstairs all by myself. It was hilarious. I guess I won't have to buy toy mice for awhile.
Ahh it was funny, you had to be there I guess.

I haven't laughed like that in awhile.

It made my night.

Bear Mess

Here's some of the bear damage. I actually cleaned most of it up and got the top back on. They came back the next night and broke into it again. I do realize that putting this thing away is the smart thing to do, but I can't carry it by myself. I locked it up in the fenced garden but that didn't stop them from getting to it again.

Words Getting Out

I think they keep telling their friends. That is my driveway they are standing on.
In the pic on the right, way back there in the garden you can see the overturned rubbermaid container that the bear tore up. I'll have a closeup of that later.

The WishJar

I had read this awhile back on Laura's blog.
I went and reread it today. I love her words. I pulled a few of her words for my post today.

how much does one share, and how much does one keep for themselves? the whole of it would make the most beautiful of novels. sometimes real life is more magical than fiction.
do you believe?

**
So she sets out to create her own life, the one that she always wanted. Most importantly she needs to find something that will fill the hole. A sense of belonging, a home to replace the one she has left. She imagines the most beautiful life. Over time all of the things she has imagined come true. A home, a village, books, a loving relationship, family & friends, pets. And she is doing the thing she loves to do most in the world, drawing. She even accomplishes all of the goals she has for herself, write a book, dance, sing, paint. She has the perfect life. She is happy. People from all over the world write her and ask how they can have that life too.
Over time she starts to question things a little.
At times she feels slightly confused about where she is going. If she has everything in her dreams what is next? Some of the things she used to want have lost their meaning, (fame, money, a following). She knows you can not always know where a path is headed. So she decides to focus on the things around her that are beautiful, nature, people, books about foreign places, films, art, and not question things so much. And in those things she finds comfort.

**
as your world undulates and twists, and you toss and turn in your bed, remember that this is life, and the floating paper will all settle in the end. you're feelings for me will either go away or they won't. your world will stay the same or it will change. you will listen to your heart, and somehow you will know what is right, where your path is to go. catch your breath, and it will all settle in the end.
**
how does one know if they are traveling in the right direction? trust that your heart will lead where you need to go. when your heart speaks, you will feel a deep knowing at the root of it. love, joy, pain, sadness, fear, they are all a part of it. they will be with you throughout it all. that is your truth. there is nothing else.
in this love I find myself.

Just For Me

I spent the day taking photos outside. We had a beautiful day, 60's, sunny and breezy.
I had to just get out of the house for awhile.

I've realized lately that I've become needy. I've never been needy. I've always been very independent. Besides Hubby, of course, I've never relied on someone else to make me happy. I don't expect hubby to make me happy either, but he does.

I usually don't expect anything out of anyone. Well, I take that back. I do expect honesty, respect. If I give it, I want it back.

Anyway, I'm getting off the subject somehow.....I spent the day with "Me".
Yes, I know, I'm always with "me"...but today was different. I got away from the computer. I got away from the ringing phone. It's been ringing alot today too for some reason. I really could do without a phone. It's usually for Hub anyway. Voicemail--lovely.

I spent alot of the day out at the pond. In the garden. With the dogs.
I saw the sunrise, it was beautiful. The grossbeaks and greyjays are back. They love peanuts by the way :) The air smells sweet, can't tell what it is.
I took photos of bugs, and horses, and cats. The aspens are turning yellow, so pretty.
The stinkbugs are back. Have any of you experienced these awful beings?? Uggh..they are horrible. They are everywhere. Even the cats won't mess with these bugs. Horrible smell if you touch or squish them.

I'm having a glass of wine now. Maybe a bubble bath later??
The hub is ordering a jacuzzi bathtub for me...joy:)
I received my Seinfeld tickets today...joy x 2 :)
My uggs came too :)

Remember the doe that ate out of the bowl for me?? She ate out of my hand today. It was great :) I'm going to try to catch that on camera next time too. It's funny because all of these deer mostly look alike, but her I know.

Anyway, sometimes you just need to dedicate some time to "me". In the end, "we" have to be happy before others can make us happy. We are responsible for our own happiness. You can be surrounded by amazing beauty and amazing people, but, if you aren't happy with yourself, it doesn't matter.

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched. They must be felt."--Helen Keller.

Just a Thought

"The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

Stuff Portrait Friday

**Favorite pic someone else took--I really like this photo of me and two friends from TX about 10 years ago. I don't get to talk to them much anymore so this pic means alot to me.

**Favorite pic of me.. not sure why I like this one so much, but it's me NOW. For me to like it is pretty big since I rarely like photos of me. Now if my hair just wasn't such a mess!

**This is one of my favorites that I've taken. --I have so many I like, but I've noticed that I always come back to this one for contests, etc.

SPF was really hard this week. I think I deserve extra credit.

Tale of Two Bear

Once again I spoke too soon on bear happenings.

Last night I had two bear. One black and one red. I don't think the black one was Max because he seemed so.much.bigger.
I chased him off easily around 12-ish. About 4-ish the red one showed up. Again, chased off easily. Or so I thought.

You guys might remember the rubbermaid container on the porch that Max tried to chew through awhile back? This container holds bird seed, cat food, corn etc. They have been working on it the last few visits.

So, the Hub and I decided to move it off the porch. (Duh). We moved it into the fenced garden. This morning the garden is open and the top is ripped off of the container. Smooth off.
He didn't eat everything inside, but he sure made a mess. It's raining really hard right now or I would take pics for ya.

So, I guess I will be moving the surviving contents today.

Geesh.
