Chester Cheetah
Why is it that junk food can call you from the cabinets? Or from the Fridge?
I went to Wally World today to do the weekly shopping. I'm not one to buy alot
of junk food, but I do like to get the few things that the HUB likes. I usually buy
Fritos for him, but decided today to also get Cheetos. I LOVE Cheetos. But, I've been
a good girl lately and can ignore the junk foods around the house. Mainly, because I
don't keep the ones I really like in the house, until TODAY.
I got home around 2. It is now 8:30. Ol' Chester Cheetah has been calling me from
inside the cabinet for 6.5 hours!! Why is that? The fruit doesn't call me. The salad
doesn't call me. Vegetables don't call me. Why is it always the one food you don't want, or don't need???
It was driving me crazy! I even had a snack to forget about the Cheetos. Didn't work.
I finally gave in (I know, I'm weak) while I was watching Reba. I had about 1/4 of this
SUPER SIZE bag I bought for the HUB.
It makes me so mad!! I didn't WANT to eat Cheetos. I've been so good all week
by eating healthy, (remember, I'm going to CA in 3 weeks...they wear bathing suits
there right now) drinking water, no crap.
And now, because of the EVIL CHESTER, I've had 1/4 bag of Cheetos.
It's a conspiracy, I tell ya.
I think I'll get on the treadclimber now.
The Hub is flying home now. The Cheetos will be waiting for him. All 3/4 bag of it!!!!
I probably won't be on much this weekend, but I will be checking in!!
Ya'll have a great weekend!! TTFN

Night Shift
stresses me out.
I used to work in an Animal ER. I remember the emergencies, owners stress,
technicians stress, doctors stress. Residents & Interns....Oh geez.
Saturday, full moon was the worst.
You never have enough doctors, or technicians. If you have to go to surgery
with one, that leaves everyone else with less help.
People come at you from all directions with questions and concerns.
I know how Carter felt tonight. When the show ended I was actually tense!
I loved that job. I loved helping the animals. Sometimes I miss it, sometimes I
don't. I hated seeing the people who couldn't afford to treat their pet. Then it made
me angry that here's a doctor that can save this "family member", but without
money, there's nothing he/she can do. It's sad.
Veterinary medicine can be very expensive, especially in the area that we worked in
and what the HUB does. He does surgeries and critical care with bills rarely under
$1500.00. We saw a cat once that had a kidney transplant....$20,000.
Some people put more value on their pet than some humans!
There were the good parts. It was great to see a critically ill animal get to go home.
To hear it breathe right again. Or a cat/dog hit by a car, broken pelvis...walk out, wag
it's tail when the owner comes to visit. It was always a challenge to me to treat these
animals, since they can't tell you what hurts. They can't tell you what they ate that
made them sick. They don't know better to not eat something stupid.
Some have no fear. Some are terrified of all these strangers poking and prodding them.
They don't understand that you are trying to help. That was hard too.
I always tried my best to make them comfortable. Talk softly. Soft blankets.
Warm food. Sometimes if I gave them stuffed animals they would curl up
next to them. It's amazing what a little TLC will do.
Anyway..to more cheerful chat. I've really been enjoying reading everyone's
"100" lists. It's funny what you can learn about people, and what you have in
common. I saw a couple today that said they liked their BLT's without the T, or
without the L. I personally take off the L and add the C (cheese). My ringtone
on my phone is the theme from Peanuts. I absolutely LOVE yellow roses.
My first album ever was Shaun Cassidy. Every Halloween I watch the movie
Halloween, and every Christmas I like to watch those Christmas shows where
the characters are made out of wood ( I think), like The Year without a Santa Claus
and Rudolph. Remember those? One good childhood memory of mine.
One of my favorite actors is Kiefer Sutherland. I used to watch 24 religiously, but
have slacked in that area. My favorite candy bar is Butterfinger.
These are just few of the things that I found I have in common with more
than one person. Oh and I really love PB&J sandwiches with very fresh soft bread.
MMMMM.....PB&J.
Okay, well I'm off for now. Big day tomorrow. The Hub comes home and I have to
go to Wally World and clean the house. Yeah for Me. Everyone have a good Friday! TTFN

Pet Shot
goofy. Just look at him......he IS goofy!
I've been working on my "List" today. Who'da thought I'd be sitting around
trying to think of 50 interesting things about me.
We're having a storm here tonight, which is odd. We rarely have storms (that
aren't snow) and lightening. Lightening scares me here because of the
threat of wildfires. I think it's too early, but it's still scary. I heard they had
Lemon size hail back home (TX) this last week. Don't miss hail!!
And most definitely don't miss 100 degree weather.
I do miss hearing the "drawl" sometimes. Me and the Hub are the only
ones now with the "drawl" around here. Later Gators.
Achey-Breaky
much, I bruise very easily.
I weeded 3 flower gardens today and the veggie garden. I placed my rocks for my
new flower garden--Big~Heavy~Rocks. My back hurts now.
I raked out the horse stall (Yummy) and cleaned up the hay area.
Did I tell ya'll that the HUB decided to buy another horse??? Another
horse for ME to take care of??
Actually he is beautiful. His name is Blaze, and he's a WalkaLoosa. Half Tennessee
walking horse, half Appleloosa. He's just like a big dog. I could put my hand on his
head and he would move his head up and down to scratch it. If I stopped, he would
nudge me to remind me that I had quit scratching. I'll have pics as soon as he
moves in.
We're having a wood fence built to make our horse area larger before we move
him over. I guess I've never posted pics of my horses have I? I'll post one after this
post.
Anyway, I did that today. Came in to watch SCRUBS...love it.
I found out that to start my garden, I need to dig up the sod. Yeah right.
Our ground is so hard right now, I thought I broke my foot when I jumped
on the shovel to dig it into the ground. I tried The Claw.....not happenin'.
I'm wondering if I soak the ground really good if it will be soft enough for
me to shovel it up. Or, I could wait for the Hub to come home and do it for
me. I really wanted to get it started...but sometimes there's just things I can't
do by myself.
That sometimes is sucky up here by myself. I can't lift heavy things...I can't move
the hay bales by myself. And it's hard to haul wood without it taking me FOREVER.
But, I look at where I live and balance out the good and bad. We have an awesome home and awesome views and I'm surrounded by wildlife. Oh and no close neighbors............Woo Hoo!!
Ok...gotta clean up and take some Tylenol! TTFN
Garden Diary
what it looked like when we started it. It has a few things in it now, mainly under
ground veggies...onions, garlic, asparagus and chives.
I will gradually add pictures as things start growing.
We found that using above ground beds made gardening so much easier and
weeding was alot easier too.
I'm adding a new flower garden today, well at least the frame of it since I can't
really plant anything right now. I will photograph these too and add them later!
I do have Daffodils coming up now, along with our bleeding heart...just beginning.
Oh and Calendula is starting to poke their little heads out! Bee Balm is poking through
also. Ahh...the smells of spring!
Ok, back to moving rocks and I'll add the pics later. TTFN

Weekends
I don't get to get on as much on the weekends because the HUB is home
and we try to get out, get things done around the house..enjoy each other's
company!! We only have the weekends...so that puts me behind on the
blog addiction!! He's out right now having drinks with his neighborhood buds,
who all call him "Doc" (which cracks me up)...so I had a few minutes to catch
up on my blog updates!! He's gone tomorrow morning...so I will have time
to chat some more!!
We hung 4 more bird houses today and the swallows are just eating it up!!
I'm loving it! I also ordered a Ladybug house, hopefully I can put this in the
garden and attract these cuties!! We both laughed when we read the box and it
said I can order 1000 ladybugs for $15.00! Of course, I'm not going to order
them. Hopefully my little house, with it's little scents, will attract them on it's own.
OH! and I've been investigating certain plants and flowers that attract butterflies
and ladybugs...oh and hummingbirds......so we'll see how this goes. I will take pics
and keep you guys updated. Plus, I'm now on a garden diary for Laura! If you guys really like a beautiful plant that smells good, go for Bee Balm. It smells amazing!! And the hummingbirds
Love it!!
Unfortunately, we aren't even supposed to plant anything until the last full
moon in June..........but sometimes we cheat and plant after Mother's day.
We'll see! I bought climbing roses today and planted three trees. A maple, a dogwood,
and a blooming cherry tree ( I might have gotten that one wrong), but anyway, they
are colorful and they bloom. The one thing about where we live is that everything is
pine or fir!! A few Aspens..but otherwise, we get no color.....all green! So, we have
a goal to add our own color. I'll keep ya'll updated with photo's how it goes.
Okay, it's grillin' time. See ya'll tomorrow!! TTFN
Boring Me
me beat!! I guess I held back!! I only did 40 my last list, so I'm going to
give them some thought and do my other 60. I can't be that boring!!
Of course I'll never compare to Laura's , but Dayum that girl has led an
interesting life!!
Ok, I'm off to think and dredge up old memories.....I'll be back later! :o)

Leesa's Studio
Inside The Actors Studio last night and at the end of his interviews he asks his guests these questions. I thought I would do this and then pass it on to my friends:
*What is your favorite word? Thanks
*What's your least favorite word? Hate
*What turns you on? G rated?? Good food. Homemade bread.
*What turns you off? Learned hate. Greed. Selfishness.
* What sound do you love? Cats purring, babies laughing
*What sound do you hate? Alarms. Any kind.
*What's your favorite curse word? Hmm...I'd have to say F**ker.
* What profession other than yours would you like to attempt? Wildlife Veterinarian*What profession would you NOT want to attempt? Anything with criminals.
*If heaven exists, what would you like GOD to say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
You did good.
So, how would you answer these questions??

Photographer's Paradise
60 degrees so far. There are birds EVERYWHERE. It sounds like a sanctuary outside!
I caught (photographed) a red-winged blackbird this morning. The wood ducks
and geese are both out at the pond and the deer are munching out in the
yard.......it's great!
This is one of my favorite parts about living here, there is such
activity outside!
I hope to get some good pics today, one thing that I have to do is just sit and wait.
Sometimes that's hard for me because I think of so many other things I could do.
That's the non-photographer in me......lack of patience.
The hub flies home tonight, I'm really hopeful that this weather will
continue while he's home. It seems it never fails that the weather changes
when he gets here. Of course he hangs out in CA for 4 days a week, so
perfect weather there. BUT, no birds, no seasons, no deer and ducks!
He loves to fly-fish so hopefully we will get some of that done this weekend.
I've got tons of recyling stuff to take care of today. We take our cardboard, cans
and bottles to a center near our town. I really wanted to recycle plastic too, but
I just cant find a location even close enough to take it too. Plus, if you ever look
at the bottom of plastic they have certain numbers on them. Certain facilities will
only take certain numbers. I really hate throwing away big plastic laundry soap
bottles and things of that size.
To kind of even that out, I started making some of my own products. I make my
own laundry soap now, glass cleaner, wood cleaner, and bathroom cleaner that I
put in my own spray bottles. They are all environmently friendly and I just keep
refilling the same bottles, so I'm wasting less plastic. It's amazing how many uses
vinegar has!
My first year here I also learned how to can my own vegetables and make jam from
the berries I grow. I learned also how to make my own lip balm, that was too fun!
It was a hit at Christmas!!
Okay...maybe I'll do another post on "homemade" goodies next time!
I'm off...lots of photographing to do, and a *little* bit of housework! TTFN!

Something I Bet You Didn't Know
Did you know that there are exactly 216 noodles in every can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup? If there is one more or one less it is automatically kicked off the assembly line. Also, the soup isn't cooked until it is sealed in the can.
Betcha didn't know that one!! I didn't!
Brain Freeze
help (Bless Her) and it's just freezing my brain! All of these ">" and these "!--> "and a
bunch of "" are insane!! I guess I wasn't meant to be a computer programmer.
What irritates me is that I'm a pretty smart gal, I can catch on pretty quickly...it bugs
me more that I'm NOT getting it. When I arrived in cyberworld, it was just me, my
computer and a "Microsoft for Dummies" book and I figured out everything on my own.
I'm the one in this relationship that figures out all the problems with the manuals and
help sections, FAQ,etc. So it really fries me when I can't figure out something so simple!!
Anyway, maybe just a little more caffeine and I'll be fine. :o)
Oh, I read a quote on Gypsy's blog today that I really liked:
"Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. When we do good things from this inner desire, there is kindness in everything we think, say, want and do."
- Emmanuel Swedenborg
The wood ducks are still in the pond (yeah!) so I might sneak out later and try to get better photo's of them. I'll also try to get that shot of the hummingbird too! It was supposed to be warmer today, but some cloud cover is blanketing us, so I guess it will be another chilly day. Ok back to that friggin template!!
I was actually considering looking into putting a different background on my this thing, but no way man.

Way Too Early
airport. Our airport is 2.5 hours away, so an early morning flight really is an EARLY
flight!! I'm catching up on all my blogging since I can't sleep now!
It's 30 degrees outside this morning, damn chilly!
I added a few more photo's to the Jones Soda Gallery! I actually
found Jones Soda at WallyWorld! I had never even heard of it!
I was really excited then that there was a possibility that I could have
a photo on a bottle of soda here in town!! (or thereabouts)
I thought I'd give Brock a claim to fame since Taylor is already there. Most of my
friends have now seen Taylor in the magazine, and want autographed photos,
her signature, not mine!! Go figure! Where's that inkpad?
Think she'll hold still?
I took more photo's yesterday of some ducks and elk..will get them on here later.
OH, and I will take house photos, but of course I have to CLEAN it first!! I can't
let ya'll see how messy I am!!
Ok I'm outta here for now.......Ya'll have a great day! I bet it will be
warmer then mine! TTFN

Remodel Fever!!
We then went to Home Depot (yeah!) and bought a rug for our living room. We had recently put pergo floors in our house and without a rug Brock can move our furniture to his liking. So, we went to buy a rug. Of course the rug I wanted, and happens to match my couch PERFECTLY!!!, was in the back on a very high shelf, so needless to say it took some guy going to get the little truck thing that raises up to get it. THEN, the truck broke down, so they had to take that in the back and fix it. THEN, start again on trying to get the rug down. We waited I bet an hour for all of that, but we started browsing to kill the time. (This was the fun part!)
We went into the kitchen section and started talking about redoing our counter tops to granite, and adding some neat tiles to that area under your cabinets but above the counter. It was really fun picking stuff and just imagining how it would look! Then off to the bathroom stuff. We've been threatening putting in a jetted tub, and redoing the ugly vinyl floor that's in there. So, We found a tub we really like, and then some flooring that we like either tile, or stone..something like that.
Now, don't get me wrong, we really do have a beautiful home and I'm not complaining (much) but a bachelor built this house, so it lacks a little originality and color. PLUS, he did all bathroom and kitchen floors in WHITE! Can you imagine how long (NOT) the floors stay clean? With a hubby and a 100# dog? It drives me crazy! Remember, there is not one road in our town that isn't dirt.
The first thing we did was take out all carpet. That was insane. I bought a steamcleaner and still couldn't keep the carpets clean. We put vinyl downstairs and pergo up. It still gets dusty and you can see every footprint, but it's cleaner and healthier than carpet. I bought a steamer that you push across the pergo floors and it cleans them right up. At least until Brock or the Hub decides to come in from outside.
We also want to extend our deck. We have an awesome deck, but part of it is like sidewalk width, and then it gets really big. Well, we put a hottub on the big part, so it doesn't leave much room for a table, or chairs, ya know that kind of stuff. So, that's another project we've discussed.
THEN, we have a pond on our property so we would like to build some kind of gazebo like thing out there with a pier so we can sit out there, roof over our head, little fire pit and just enjoy!!
I will put a few pics on here to give ya'll some ideas what we are working with. Anyway, I can't wait!! I think the bathroom will be first. I will do some before & after's just for fun.
Okay, the sun came out finally so I think I will do a few things outside. TTFN!

Great Quote
"You can plant in a child’s mind flowers or you can plant weeds. You can give them the materials to plant a garden or leave them with only a wasteland. Teachers and parents should always plant good seeds, and spread just enough manure for something extraordinary to grow..."
Love it!!
Goodnight!
Moonwatcher
and it has a neat poem I wanted to share with you....
The Moon has a face like the clock in the hall
She shines on thieves on the garden wall
On streets and fields and harbor quays
And birdies asleep in the forks of trees.
The squalling cat and the squeaking mouse
The howling dog by the door of the house
The bat that lies in bed at noon
All love to be out by the light of the Moon.
But all of the things that belong to the day
Cuddle to sleep to be out of her way
And flowers and children close their eyes
Till up in the morning the sun shall rise.
I've been having too much fun with photography this week.
With the Jones Soda Contest, and then I entered Thursday
Theme, and Photo Friday. I'm loving this!
I won glass art from Troy & Danielle and The Artful Blogger this week, can't wait to get both! I'm going to try to figure out
a way to put the glass art in my windows...I'll have to
look for suction cups today. Oh yeah, I have to go to
Walmart today :o(. I hate going to Walmart. We had this
discussion on Greekchickie's blog yesterday. It's so crowded
and everyone has "mini" meetings in the aisles and won't let
you by! Hate it! I'm always crabby when I leave Walmart
and I'm not naturally a crabby person. Walmart brings out
the evil in me! Actually it doesn't, but it does make me
a little crabby and I never want to go back. But *sigh* it
has what I need!
Thanks, and I'm off. TTFN!

Go Vote!!
I don't know how to link it to here, but just search under "Leesa" if you want to vote!! I also put my votes in for Laura and Troy!
I'm such a huge B&W fan that it was fun entering those!
It's been pretty uneventful around here since the Hub left for CA. It's been cooler than I had hoped for, I'm so ready to spend some time outside and garden!!
All the cats are healthy again, so yeah for me!
I've been trying to catch pictures of the wood ducks out in the pond, they are so beautiful, and they always hear me coming!! I think I'm going to have to get a deer blind (is that right?) dress in camo, hide and wait!! It's just like the Heron's here, you just can't make a move or they are outta here.
I'm supposed to be working on an assignment that I have been putting off. I'm a member at Betterphoto.com and I signed up for a class on Photoshop. The first assignment is turning photo's into watercolor paintings. Sounded easy enough, but when I got the instructions on how they want me to do it, they don't come out right!! It's due on the 17th, I have to have three "before and after" entries and I've only gotten one done! Aaaaccckk. I will have to do that tonight!
Oh and if you like to see fun photo's check out www.Betterphoto.com and look under contest entries. They have some of the funnest photo's on there sometimes!
I did finally decide to NIX the TX trip until at least Fall. I am going to go to CA with my hubby when he furnishes his new house. He got a brand new convertible mustang, so I think I will be doing some beach cruisin'! Can't wait! I will definitely be taking some photo's to share with you!
In case there is any confusion, my hubby ain't leavin me........he trains residents in his specialty of Emergency & Critical Care, the residents are all in 3 year programs, sooooo...he will be working in CA for at least the next three years. So, he's renting a house and leasing a car. Great vacation getaway anytime I want!! Oh and he's only gone Tues-Fri each week. It was wierd to get used to at first, but I'm used to it now. I feel I have the best of both worlds, married life and single life. I have plenty of me time and it's great! But, there are those times when crazy things happen and he's out of town, but I guess that's life!
Ok, I've got many animals to feed.......TTFN!

I'll be back later!
