Name Game

Okay so I haven't said much about these two yet. One thing... too hard to capture together both looking at me. They always want to smell or walk on the camera.
They are very very young, maybe 5 weeks. Not too stable on their feet yet, but they still try to play. Jones plays with them, but he is so brutal I usually have to save them.
They were dropped off in our driveway, so someone was pretty smart. They either know I live here, or a vet lives here. Anyway, they are moving to Seattle and will live in the condo there.

So the big thing now is .... Names. Got any ideas??

The Problem

This is a problem. They are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. They don't sting, because if they did I'd be dead by now for sure, but they are just obnoxious. They cover all the feeders and chase off the hummingbirds. I have never had this problem.
It sucks :(

"Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies" This sculpture commands attention from above a high plateau just off of I-90 in central/eastern Washington State.

According to spokaneoutdoors.com:
A distant rumbling strikes the air. Swirling dust motes reach skyward. A dry breeze dances across desolate lands. Thunderheads build and fingers of light split the sky. A breeze becomes a howling wind. Hear the voice of creation! The Grandfather Spirit sends his message across the plains, echoing through the mountains and valleys of Mother Earth:

"Creatures of this planet, behold, a Great Basket! I send this basket, bearing the gift of life, to all corners of the universe. Now take these ponies, I am cutting them loose. We're home.
We stopped at the Iron Horse Monument and got some great shots. BTW.. it's NOT the Vantage exit :)
It was quite the trek up there and very hot. We were the only brave ones out of a group of tourists to take the hike up. It was really beautiful.
I'm chillin' now with a beer and some cool weather.

Columbia River

The Welcome Kitty

The drive to Seattle went well. Weather was good for the most part, a little hazy. We stopped at the Columbia River to take a few photos, and somehow I missed the exit for the steel horses. I will try again on our way back.

As we unloaded the car and started filling up the condo, this one (see above) walked right into the house and made himself at home. His name is Tigger, he does have a collar and tags, but he acted like he knew this place and just came right on in. Took him no time at all to get comfy on the couch. Maybe he's the greeting commitee?? He's extremely friendly.

Today is wait for the cable guy day. Thank goodness for wireless internet :)

Long Day

He's got the right idea. What a long day it was.
First... the airport for sis and nephew is DFW, so they have to drive about 3 hours to get there, AND..an hour before their flight. So.. they left around 3am for the airport.

Our airport in Spokane is 2.5 hours away, so we left our house around 9:30 to meet them. They should have landed at noon.
Without going into all of it, they landed at TWO. Luckily I didn't drive there alone, so finding something to do for two hours wasn't as hard to do.

So.. they land at two. We pick them up... all is good. Let's head home. When almost to Sandpoint, traffic stopped. Literally. Stopped. We were a parking lot. Luckily I brought my laptop, so I got online. Hubs was on a phone call that seemed to take forever. Sis and son wandered out of the car for awhile. People were out walking on the highway, walking dogs etc. I think we sat there for a half hour.
It eventually let up and we started moving, never knowing why we were stopped in the first place. I think I even saw someone wandering around with a camera :)

We stopped to pick up homemade pizzas from a deli near town and headed home to cook them there. It was a long day.
Cody did get on a horse for the first time ever.. even bareback! Something new to photograph :)

Now it's late.. and everyone's asleep except me.

Photo Blahg

I'm at a photography standstill. I want to take photos, but I've run out of ideas. The bear have gone up high for huckleberries, (they'll be back), I have yet to see a fawn in the yard, which is really odd. The kitten is in this run-around-the-house-as-if-your-tail-is-on-fire stage and I can't get him still unless he's sleeping. I've moved onto food, even though that's starting to bore me too. I need a new subject.

Picking up my Sis and nephew at the airport this morning. They will be here for about 3 weeks. I will also spend some time in Seattle, so maybe some new photo subjects there :)

Not really a whole lot new going on here.. we are dry as we can possibly be which is scary. Our temps are FINALLY going down, looks like we'll be back in the 80's this week..yay.
I posted a photo of the Mustang below. This is my new car for Seattle. It isn't new though, this was the car hubs used in California. It is a nice car, but it is so weird to go from driving the truck to this small car. I'm getting used to it, but it's different. Oh and it goes really fast. Cruise control will be used often :)

It's Friday..

Suurrrrrrrree... it's okay to put your feet up at 7am when it's 50 degrees. That will change soon.
Another hot one ahead of us, supposed to be almost 100..ick. But...I'm driving to Sandpoint today to do some shopping and avoid some of it.

I heard today that with this unusual heat we're having will come a nasty winter. I'm so thankful I won't be dealing with it alone this time. But, I am looking forward to winter. I'm ready for snow again.... are you?

That's really all I have to say today and put my Friday Feet up.

Trouble vs Trouble

Thirteen Things

1. It has been So hot here lately. Upper 90's for us is hot and it's been unusual and too long. Bleh.
2. My one little AC window unit is struggling and not cutting it.
3. I'm ready for winter again.
4. My sis will be here in a few days for about a month. It should be fun :)
5. Our usual camping trip is off, but it looks like we'll spend some time in Seattle instead.
6. I've been taking a lot of photos lately but they're all starting to look alike. Flowers, kitten, bear, deer.... Flowers, kitten, bear, deer.
7. I have a meme to do, 8 FACTS about me. What about me do you NOT know yet? I'm having a hard time.
8. I've been honored with "Rockin' Girl Blogger" twice now, once by Moosekahl, and once by Kaliblue :) I'll get on this soon.
9. I now have the mustang from California. A much easier vehicle to drive around Seattle. I don't remember if I blogged about it much, but the Dodge Mega-Cab was not easy to travel and park with in Redmond.
10. I keep having these awful dreams lately. Not nightmarish-scary dreams, but sad dreams. Dreams that make you wake up all funkified and sad. I'm tired of it now.
11. Did I mention it's hot?
12. Trout has been escaping from the cat pen for the last couple of weeks. No matter how many "possible" spots I found to repair, I'd still find him outside the next morning. Well finally we found the spot and he can't get out anymore. It was really starting to get frustrating. Imagine the cat being smarter than you. :P
13. Well that's it. I can't even think of 13 semi-exciting things to tell you.

Gone To Glacier

Drove to Glacier National Park yesterday and spent the day. We had a gorgeous drive in, hit a few clouds and haziness for a little while, but cleared back up again. If you ever have the chance to go, I highly recommend it.

Not much wildlife running around, but it is bear country and we did see one bear cross the road. Of course I came home to one practically sitting on my front porch :)
