Blech

Okay, so I'm not feeling any better. Actually it's getting worse. What sucks is that I don't have any real symptoms I can explain. I'm OVERLY tired. Just feeling ick. No flu, no sore throat, no sneezing...nuthin. Just YUCK.
I want to just lay in bed all day and I can't. I've already taken a nap today and I'm still tired. I am sitting in my bed now with the laptop, but I'm actually too tired to type. I must be sick if I don't want to type.
Uggh...I don't like this :( So one of you just hop on over here tonight and take care of the horses and stock the fire tonight please. Oh and let the dogs out, feed the outside cats, turn on the heated blankets for them, feed the deer and stock the bird feeders for tomorrow morning.
Not too much to ask right??

Wrap-Up
I've gone back and forth on feeling crummy. I just can't shake it.
Sometimes I feel fine, and then others I just want to crawl back into bed.
That's what I did last night and today. I crawled into bed at 10pm, which ya'll know is very unlike me, just exhausted. I slept until 6:30am.
Today I just woke up lethargic and blah. I can't quite pinpoint what doesn't feel good, it's just like my whole body.
I also took a two hour nap. Again..not like me.
We went out Saturday for just a fun drive and photo fun. We went into Libby, MT. Which is very scenic and has a great amount of eagles. We must have seen at least 15. We saw several youngsters on a frozen pond, but they were sitting on a carcass, so the photo didn't appeal to me much. I did get one without it, but didn't come out so well. It snowed most of the day and was windy. I'm using that 500mm Tamron lens, so sometimes it's a bit heavy in windy days.
We saw alot of mountain goats also which of course we've seen before, they are everywhere, but not usually so close to the house.
We saw a herd of elk that just decided to cross the street in front of us. I didn't grab the camera, don't even ask why. I'm not sure either.
I watched the documentary on
Timothy Treadwell on the Discovery Channel.
This was just amazing. I just was so surprised by this guy that he thought he could be one with the grizzly. The only thing is his voice annoyed me so much, I had to fast forward alot. It's pretty impressive if you can maybe mute him sometimes. He died a horrible death, as did his girlfriend, and that is horrible and sad. They have audio of him being killed. Ugh, just can't even imagine hearing that. He had to have known the risks though.
His footage of the bear is quite amazing and I can imagine the photographs...drool.
I had read the book, which was wild enough, but actually seeing him interact with the bear was amazing. I just can't imagine. The black bear scare me and they aren't half as dangerous. One thing that does bother me is that he didn't do any of these animals any good by making them used to people.
Oh and I found out we do have grizzly here too! They just rarely come around this area. Yay.
I watched Forrest Gump last night while holed up in bed. I hadn't seen it in years...good movie:)
I also watched Jaws for awhile, one of my fave's, before I crashed.
Today has been a bunch of NUTHIN.
I ate some of my girl scout cookies and now just feel worse.
Hubs prepared a bunch of food for me before he left, so I don't have
to worry about cooking anything :) Ha....like I cook...:P
Oh and more fun news....we have a dog in the area that likes to attack other dogs and cats. Viciously, I might add. Very unacceptable. I worried all day if that might be what happened to Henderson. :(
Where's that silencer???
Ewwww, Part 2
Well, Insanity Infusion just topped that.
Check THIS candy out.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Wildlife

Ramble

It's Saturday. It's 9 degrees outside.
I don't have to do the outside chores this morning :)
So..why am I up at 6am??
It's funny how when I have these opportunities to sleep in, I don't. Is that a sign of aging?
My cookies came yesterday, funny I don't rememer the boxes being so small.
I got a beautiful necklace and earrings from Pam :) I'll have to take a pic and show ya'll later.
I worked on greeting cards for the store just about all day yesterday. I have to say they really are pretty. I'm trying to figure out if I could sell them on here. Would I just add a paypal button??
Oh my other big event yesterday was cleaning out my closet. Geesh.
I have way.too.many clothes and way.too.many shoes. Of course, I couldn't really part with any! But I did manage to at least arrange it so I could see the floor :P
Hubs doesn't understand of course why I have all of these, since I don't wear even a third of them anymore. He also doesn't understand why I just don't give some away. (*excuse me while I catch my breath*) It's okay, he's a man. He has 6 pairs of the same exact jeans...2 in a different color. He has three pairs of cowboy boots that cost more than most of my shoes. He might own 10 shirts. I moved him out of the closet ages ago.
I guess I really have nothing of importance to say today.
*I was surprised by the figure skating results. Not that I was shocked that Sasha would fall, I really expected it. I just thought Irina and Emily would do better.
*If it's clear today I hope to get out and take some pics. Good eagle day :)
*I really hope to get the jam started too. I know I promised jam ages ago, but with all the berries I have frozen, it will be an all day job. I still have addresses, so hopefully soon you guys will be getting homemade jam:)
Okay, that's it. I'm done.
Ya'll get up already so I can have some posts to read :)

Okay, these are just too cute :)
They have some really cute themes including Star Wars, Simpsons, and late night tv show hosts.
Hat-Tip to Cyber Chocolate :)
(Not) Wordless Wednesday

I LOVE this photo. There's just something so sexy about it to me :)
I'm definitely not wordless, but blogless. Does that make sense?
I have just not had much to blog about lately. Is there such thing as bloggers block? I got nuthin.
I haven't seen that wildcat, but the UPS guy said he did see it in the driveway. Hmmph. SO not fair. I guess I'm going to have to get out of the house.
It snowed yesterday, but at least we are back to some more normal temps. We're not getting over freezing yet, but hey....the 20's look great to me!
I've had a couple of nights here where I have just turned off the computer and laid on the couch watching the Olympics. Which is rare for me to just turn off the computer, but It just wasn't in me.
The bummer part is I can't just lay there and fall asleep. Which I would have liked to have done. BUT...I have animals to feed and fires to stock. Can't be a bum here! Even though I do give it my best effort :)
*I did manage to make several greeting cards for the store.
*I've been investigating a new tripod, as mine's a piece of crap.
*My new Carhartt is in....man I love this coat!
*Greekchickie ordered me some girl scout cookies and is shipping them up to me! This is very cool. I don't keep many sweets in the house, but these are the exception:)
*Sam has not injured himself in two days, this is a good thing.
*My light outside still isn't working, but I have strung up a bunch of Christmas lights. So, I have light, and it's kind of festive!
*Oh and Bustopher does smack Marble, but he does it softly. Next to Critter this has to be one of the coolest cats I own. He loves everyone and everything. He loves the delivery guys and even gets in their trucks. I always remind them to check the trucks before they drive away.
He loves the horses and the deer, even though the deer won't have anything to do with him. Even though he does try. I saved him one night when working an emergency shift at an animal hospital. I always wonder, with these animals, if he would have had the same personality if raised by someone else?? I tend to over-spoil my pets (I know you're shocked) and they are very friendly. Would he have had this same personality?? hmmmm...
Did I say I wordless today?? :) Heh.

Animal ER
Well yesterday he cut his nose. And, he cut it good. Talk about blood!
I'm sparing you from the really yucky pics, you're welcome:)
Anyway, hubs was home (a miracle in it's own) and sewed Sam's nose back up. Below are before and after pics.

Had a pretty cool weekend. Took the ice wall pics in the previous post, and also went down to our frozen creek with the dogs. What I really find amazing is, after dealing with temps below zero, 20 degrees felt great! The sun was out and I didn't even need gloves! I'll post some of those pics later.
Oh and on a sad note....I lost two Heinekens to the low temps :(
It was very sad indeed. I did take some pics of the crime scene.
I might post at another time, if you can stomach it.
Wall of Ice

Standing below them was pretty freaky too, just realizing that one falling could probably kill me. The camera probably doesn't even do it justice, since these things were at least 10 times my size.

I'm actually suprised they are focused, since it was about 6 degrees and my fingers were freezing. Thank goodness for image stabilization!!

I took about a million probably, and a few more are over at the My Photoblog :)

Brrrr

5 below this morning. Thankfully I don't have to do much out there. There's no wind so it's alot more bearable. The eagles seem to be everywhere lately along the river's edge. I hope to get out and take some photos when it warms up some.
I'm having internet issues, I guess the cables don't like 5 below??
I got the cutest mail art from Greekchickie. I'll post that later :)
She also ordered Girl Scout Cookies for me, so very cool. I miss girl scout cookies. I don't think I've seen one since I moved here. I can already taste those frozen thin mints!!
I must be hungry....time to go.

She's in My Head
"Love can break your heart and save your soul and change your life.
It is a very hard thing to understand. Love can make you very powerful, and somehow so shamefully weak. That's what makes it so mysterious and so illusive and so sought after. We need it to exist. We do not exist without it. We want to want it, but are so fearful of its control over our thoughts and our dreams, that we keep it at bay, in a box on a shelf somewhere inside of ourselves.
We want love, but we want it on our own terms. We want to control it, and not have it control us. We do not want to "need" it. We want love to be a mistress, that comes and goes at the simple nod of the head. To want love, not to need love; but we DO need love...we need it to breathe and to be.It scares me; all of the love and the lack there of. All of the love that I pour out onto the floor around my bare feet. My thread bare heart that you can look into. I am giving love away and hoping it comes back, hoping it finds me in my room overlooking the water, where I am waiting for it.
Oh the quiet of waiting. It is all so big and we are so small. Counting time and crossing days off calendars. Crawling into bed and thinking about the time going by. Opening a book and reading the same page over and over again. Finding the cool spots within the crisp clean sheets, and swishing my legs back and forth. Getting up to drink water and look into a mirror at my face. Sleeplessness.
Looking at my face and watching the lines that I have traced a thousand times to heartache and a million times to sheer joy, lines nonetheless. I run my fingers over the ones that cling to my eyes and I sip my water and I go back to bed.
Thinking makes you think more. Wanting makes you want more. Needing makes you need more. I wonder how you think. I want to get in there, inside of you and run around to every room. I want to see what you see. Feel what you feel. No, I don't. I guess I would rather wonder. And I am here to prove you wrong. About love. Somehow, someway, someday.
How is it that you can be so far away? Love will haunt me to sleep some nights, and purr to me others. It's so many things all at once; you cannot describe it with mere words. It is. We are. The sun is setting on another day.
I should fold my clothes that are on the chair. There is a sleeping cat tucked in among them. Perhaps I can wait a few more slumbering moments. To fall asleep. To fall in love. It's a lot of falling. Life is so sweet. I want to want everything."
I read this at Jann's and she had me captivated. It's like she's in my head........
A Little Nippy

It's MINUS THREE degrees this morning. Yes, MINUS THREE. My face hurts from being outside. Uggh. I don't think I like MINUS THREE. I can't imagine what the wind chill is actually. The house is just creaking and cold. Hubs comes home today though, so at least I won't have outside chores again for a couple of days.
I got these eagle pics yesterday. I'm actually pretty impressed with them considering they were pretty far away. I'm so kissing my Tamron 500mm lens :) I've also realized that I have never gotten an eagle photo on a sunny day. What's up with that? I do love them though:) I may go out this weekend and find some more. They like to hang out around the river.
Nothing overly exciting to report from Montana. It's cold..did I tell you that already? The horses are getting along now, mostly. I think Sams wound probably froze shut. The cats refuse to go outside. Brock still loves it though, goofy dog.
I think I need thicker gloves.
Today's Menu

Appetizer
If you were a color, which color would you be, and why? **My favorite color is black, so I would jump to say that. But, I have always been told I'm an autumn color kind of girl. Who knows.
Soup
When was the last time you went to the doctor, and what was your reason for going?** I went in for an MRI for Migraines.
Salad
What do you collect? **Besides pets?? I used to collect Beanie Babies, probably have about 800. Have been kind of slack on that lately though.
Main Course
What were you like in high school? Name one thing you miss and one thing you don't miss about those days. (If you're still there, imagine how you'll remember it in the future.)**loaded question really..I was extrememly shy, but tried out for everything to prove something to myself. Wound up being in cheerleading, band, student council and the swim team.
Dessert
Pretend you're standing in front of your home, with your back towards your home. Describe the view - what can you see? Trees? Cars? A zoo? Wal-Mart?
**I see the house, gardens, pine trees, mountains. That's it :) No neighborhood, no stores. Oh there is a truck.
