Black & Blue

*Pipevine Swallowtail

I really am trying to get things done today, but I seem to be easily distracted. My little brain is all over the place today.
I had more bear last night, not that anyone would be surprised anymore. Pam and Ellen will definitely have bear stories for ya next week :)
Most of my house is clean. Lists are made. Laundry and bedding is clean. Front porch clean.

Is it happy hour yet?

Just a Few

A Few Seattle Photos are HERE :)

Back to Back

Back to Normal

Four. Count em'....four bear last night. I guess things are back to normal. Even though I don't recall ever having four in one night, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I had three earlier in the evening. Two were digging into a tree stump, the youngest climbing the tree headed for a birdhouse. She didn't quite make it and crawled back down. It was pretty dark and they were plenty far away, but still cool to watch. The third guy was in the garage, and climbed into the back of the truck to get a bag of corn. I've always been able to keep the corn in the back of the truck safely, but I guess that has changed.

The last guy, the big one, showed up a couple of hours later. He tried to take the giant rubbermaid container off the porch. I shoo'd him off a couple of times but he kept coming back. So...aimed the paintball gun at him a few times and he left for good. I was a little nervous this morning that I may have hit the truck, but I didn't see any pink spots this morning :)

I still haven't really organized my Seattle pics yet, I don't know what my problem is. I may make some sort of collage out of them.
I did forget to mention that I got to go to a LUSH store while I was there! I could have spent hours in there I think, poor John. But I did get to sample some things and of course I bought some things too.

Oh and I drove a tractor :) And, NO...no photos. :P

Thursday Theme : Light

Slowly

I really did have a post planned today, but I seem to be lagging. I got in late last night, already dark, and a bear already here. I had a small mess to clean up for that, AND..had to feed the horses in the dark which is no fun. (*mental note to Pam & Ellen, feed horses in daylight)

By the time I got everyone situated and fed, I was pooped. I don't seem to be moving much faster today. I do have a lot more photos, which I thought I'd do a Thursday Thirteen with, or it might be a Friday theme. I also do have my video for You Tubesday...I'll try to post that later too.

Pam and Ellen we'll be here Sunday and we head out on Tuesday so who knows what i'll get posted around that time, but I will have my laptop :)

Oh and hubs not once thought to fill my flower vases with water. Didja think maybe the dying wilting flowers would have been a sign??

Seattle Aquarium

Still Here

Okay, so...
I've been to the Zoo, The Butterfly Gardens, The Market Place...
Umm...
I fed chickens, saw the largest slug I've EVER seen. And I will photograph that for Marianna.
Oh I also went to the aquarium and I toured Microsoft! Ya'll jealous??

Can you guess who my host is??

Where Am I?

Can ya tell?

Had a slow start yesterday but finally made my destination. Walked through a great market place and took many photos, of course :)
We ate fish and chips by the water and fed french fries to seagulls. Beautiful weather and a very informed tour guide.

Wake Up

My brain has decided it's Saturday.
It will not accept it's Friday.
So...
Today's Saturday. Everyone go home. Play outside.
Take some photos. Whatever....

Have fun :)

Must Have

This STUFF is just awesome.

I'm just sayin'.

Photo Friday : Girl

Photo Friday is "Girl" today. Which made me think of a ladybug. Even though, I guess not all ladybugs are girls are they? I'm going with it anyway.

This is all going to be mindless babble, so bear with me.

Have you ever tried sweeping and mopping your floors with two kittens in the house?
Go ahead, try it sometime :) It was almost impossible. They wanted to chase the broom, they wanted to jump in the pile of dirt it collected. They they'd wrestle a bit. Then they'd chase the mop. This continued on through each room of the house. And of course as soon as the floor is nice and wet, they run through it, leaving little kitty paw prints everywhere. Sigh.
oh and of course, they had to be in every room I was in.
*
We've had several bucks in the yard lately, and they are knocking antlers. It's quite the sight. I've tried capturing on camera, but just too hard with the time of day they choose to do this. They are also knocking off the felt, so they tend to be bloody at the same time. I do have a photo of that. Wanna see?
*
We've gotten a decent amount of rain lately, and there's even snow in the mountains, but the fires are still burning. They've decreased, but they still expect them to burn until the first real snowfall. We're barely getting over the 50's during the day, and that's just fine with me :)
*
My trip to DC is coming awfully quickly and I don't feel even close to being ready. I have two bloggers coming to stay here while I'm gone, and I need to have some things done. Red suggested I tag and label each pet. That should be successful :)
I don't have to supply food as Pam seems to be bringing plenty of food for them and the neighbors. Besides dealing with my small zoo, I hope they will have a good time. It will be interesting to read their blogs from DC about the adventures in my house.
*
Hopefully they won't deal with bear.
Hopefully the pregnant horse won't give birth. (I'm kidding, Red )
Hopefully the lynx won't come around.
Hopefully the fires will stay sedated.
Hopefully my animals will behave.
*
Hopefully they'll still like me after my animals test their sanity.
*
Oh and I hope they know that they are saving the sanity of this "Girl" by helping me get out of this house for a much needed escape :)

How Do They Fit?

For Me

Following The Current
Going With The Flow

The expression going with the flow is a metaphor that applies to navigating a river. When we go with the flow, we follow the current of the river rather than push against it. People who go with the flow may be interpreted as lazy or passive, but to truly go with the flow requires awareness, presence, and the ability to blend one's own energy with the prevailing energy. Going with the flow doesn't mean we toss our oars into the water and kick back in the boat, hoping for the best. Going with the flow means we let go of our individual agenda and notice the play of energy all around us. We tap into that energy and flow with it, which gets us going where we need to go a whole lot faster than resistance will.

Going with the flow doesn't mean that we don't know where we're going; it means that we are open to multiple ways of getting there. We are also open to changing our destination, clinging more to the essence of our goal than to the particulars. We acknowledge that letting go and modifying our plans is part of the process. Going with the flow means that we are aware of an energy that is larger than our small selves and we are open to working with it, not against it.

Many of us are afraid of going with the flow because we don't trust that we will get where we want to go if we do. This causes us to cling to plans that aren't working, stick to routes that are obstructed, and obsess over relationships that aren't fulfilling. When you find yourself stuck in these kinds of patterns, do yourself a favor and open to the flow of what is rather than resisting it. Trust that the big river of your life has a plan for you and let it carry you onward. Throw overboard those things that are weighing you down. Be open to revising your maps. Take a deep breath and move into the current.

I'm White and Nerdy

Fun VIDEO ,go check it out :)

I really really tried to post it here, but I'm White and Nerdy and couldn't figure it out :P

Wait...

White and Nerdy should have figured it out right?

I must be White and Dorky.

Yeah, that's it.

You Tubesday

Okay, I can't get it to load, so go HERE to see my video.

I was going to show you a deer video, but then I knew I'd just get emails on how I shouldn't be getting close to the deer or feeding them. Soooo..... you get cats :P

Yes, some of it is dark, but it's dark out today and I don't have good light inside. I don't feel like cropping it, but the best part is about a minute into it.

I know, I know, I'll try to do better next week.

P.S. You Tubesday is brought to you by Stacie, go by and say Hi :)

Momma Said No

Ok, I'm loving THIS :)

And just think, I'll be in a hotel in just about two weeks!

Take A Walk With Me

You're the lucky one
So I've been told

As free as the wind,
Blowin' down the road

Loved by many, hated by none
I'd say you're lucky 'cause I know what you've done

Not a care in the world
Not a worry in sight

Everything's gunna be alright
Cause you're the lucky one

You look at the world with a smilin' eye
And laugh at the devil as his train goes by

No matter where you're at, it's where you'll be
You can bet your luck won't follow me

You're the lucky one
Always havin' fun
A jack of all trades a master to none

Well you're blessed i guess
By never knowing which road your choosin.

To you the next best thing
To playin and winning is playin and losing

Not a care in the world
Not a worry in sight
Everything's gunna be alright
Cause you're the lucky one

Mission

I've had a mission for quite a while. To catch these guys in a good photograph.
I have not had much luck. They are everywhere here, but they usually show up when it's raining, and always out of range for this lens. They are rarely clear, and it's rarely sunny.
I sat outside by the pond, vewy vewy quietly, watching this guy.
Yes, I was stealth, I was quiet. Still...nothing. Not clear.

Of course I'm obsessed now.
