Thirteen Nothings..

1. I just saw two missionaries walking up my driveway. As they reached the house, they turned around and left. Evil presence? Evil cats? Too weird.

2. I must pick up at least 10 live grasshoppers a day in my house. Jones catches them and gives them to the kittens, I take them away and throw them back outside.

3. It's been raining for 4 days and my sprinklers are still going off.

4. If you ever want a personal blog, don't put your name or your state on it. (*especially if you have a unique name) Someone WILL find it.

5. I learned this morning that you can't use ice cream as substitute for coffee creamer. Especially chocolate chip... it's messy and doesn't taste that good.

6. I noticed the last few mornings that the fawns like to follow the cats. Although, one little sneeze and all hell breaks loose.

7. In the last week there's been a mountain lion on the property and report of a grizzly in the area. Mountain lion I'm okay with, they are always here... the grizzly makes me a little nervous.

8. Cold weather is here. In the 40's the last few mornings and I have no split firewood. Where's that stable boy?

9. My barn and garage are engulfed in spiders and spider webs. It's literally like the movie Arachnophobia. Thankfully they don't mind the camera.

10. I had a hawk hit my window the other day. It was really weird picking him up and waiting for him to shake it off. I'm thinking that beak could tear right through my finger. He woke up and flew away. No photos :(

11. I'm looking to buy a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit. Any suggestions? Pro's or Con's? I even looked at boxing bags. Gotta have something to hit sometimes.

12. I never did talk about camping did I? It was cold in the morning, hot during the day. Mosquitos seemed to only like ME. I don't fish. I couldn't hike because of an injury and my mattress died.

13. Well I obviously don't have a thirteen as this has been sitting on my screen for the last half hour.

Hey Mikey!

She liked it!

Yeah, not something I'd normally do, but Schwans had them in the catalog so I thought "why not?".
Kinda yucky, frozen-ice-cream-like, beef flavored, with confetti in it. (No, I didn't try it )

Took her a few tries to like it, but then she licked the bowl clean.

First Day of School

She left with a trainer today. No, not the cat :P

Her first time away from home and first time in a trailer. She did pretty well, considering.
She did cry as she was going down the driveway, and momma cried back.

It was kinda sad :(

The Canon Wins

There have been little stories here and there throughout the week that I thought about blogging about. Once I get home and sit down, it doesn't seem so interesting to me anymore.
Although, I do have one that has stuck with me and we still laugh about so I thought I'd share it.

Last week we went to Kootenai Falls for the hike and the swinging bridge. Seems to be a yearly thing. It's a beautiful spot and it's a fun trip. This trip though I really didn't think about the shoes I was wearing.
It does have some rocky trails to follow and it can tend to be a bit sandy. I was wearing converse which don't have the best traction. No biggie.. I just walked slower, plus I was carrying my canon, so I'm careful.

We were walking along the trail, my sis was next to me and the hubs was up ahead with the dog, and I fell. Yep.. tripped right over a rock, me and the camera went tumbling. And yeah, it hurt. I was injured. Funny thing though, and a surprise, I didn't think of the camera. I was thinking of my ankle that didn't want to work and the wrist I landed on. I survived and yeah it's still bruised and a little swollen, but.. the best part is after I fell, my sister went for the camera. Her automatic response was to save the camera.
At first she felt bad, then we laughed. I told her it wasn't odd at all for someone to think of the item that's that expensive.. and yeah it did get a little scuffed and dirty, but works fine.

Me on the other hand, limped for days and still have a big ol' bruise and swelling.

Nope.. no pictures. :P

She Walks On Air

Hay Day

Yesterday was hay day. Because of some problems last minute, I wound up with no trailer and no help to get hay.
This is where the small town hospitality kicks in and you gotta love it.

A guy who just moved here a few months ago called because he heard we needed help loading hay. We then told him our problems and he wound up finding several boys and a trailer to get our hay.
With Amy's help everything was handled and we have hay.

They all showed up about 4pm and started working until after 11pm. At one point they even had a flat on the flatbed and had to unload all of the hay onto another trailer.

I hadn't met one boy before that day. They were glad to help.

Impressive.

p.s. This is only one load of 4.

Knock-Knock

Check out this little visitor I had on my screen door last night. He's about 2inches long and had these wild antennae. This morning he's still there but they're closed.
I figure it's some kind of beetle but couldn't find anything like it online last night.
There were about 4 of them out there and I've never seen them before.

Pretty wild.
