1. I think I finally have everything planted in the garden. I tried a lot by seed this year, which I don't usually do. I'm seriously thinking of investing in a greenhouse next year.
2. So far I have green beans, peas, spinach, lettuce, greens, mixed greens, cabbage, cucumbers, pickles, carrots, zucchini and squash. There are also strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes and onions. Oh and the same rhubarb that comes up every year that I've yet to do anything with.
3. I've had several bear, mostly during the night, of course. I have two moms with two cubs each. One set was here last year which I proved by photos from last year. It was pretty neat to see the difference in size in the cubs. The other mom's cubs are the smallest I've ever seen. I bet they're not much bigger than my cats.
4. Not as many deer as we usually get, but I do have a few pregnant moms.
5. We went to see an injured baby elk yesterday. It was so cute and so big. I wish I had taken photos, but the moment just wasn't right.
6. My Houdini horse, Carmel, I think has finally been stifled. The fencing has been reinforced so she can't push it over and step over. I am proud to say that my handiwork on the main gate, another way she was escaping, held her in until that could be reinforced too.
7. I still need to make raspberry and strawberry jam from LAST years harvest. I'm a tad behind.
8. There's a brisket, roast and spareribs in the smoker today. Yeah, that won't attract the bear at all. Nope, not at all.
9. Have you seen Get Smart yet? Loved it.
10. I've been watching the French Open, Wimbledon starts on the 22nd, and the Redwings are still in the Stanley Cup tonight. I'm ready for football.
11. Removed the stitches from my head today. I now understand why animals need plastic collars most of the time, I was always messin with mine. Annoying.
12. I just realized I have poppies and bleeding heart waiting to be planted while I just sit here. Eh.. maybe I'll do it tonight.
13. I'm thinkin' guacamole sounds good. Later.
