moving on

Summer is moving on. In the 40's overnight, beautiful cool morning and sunny cool days. I love moving into Fall.
The hummingbirds are slowing down, I only see a few a day now. More and more deer are here in the mornings with their little fawns, all turning a pretty shade of red. The tomatoes are all turning red, soon we'll be making all kinds of salsa and chow-chow.

The firewood is all delivered and so is the hay. It's that time. I love this time of year.

Did I say that already? :)

Cooling Down

It's starting to cool down some during the days, making the nights even cooler. The evenings are perfect for walks or trips out on the boat. Not much can beat watching the sunset on the river.
It's that time for collecting firewood and loading up on hay for the season. We're done with both which makes things feel so complete and time to move into Fall. I'm ready.

The hummingbirds are slowing down a bit, and the bear will be back down soon after stuffing themselves with huckleberries. Our naughty little mountain lion is back in the area, which makes things so tense. I wish he'd just move on, he's taken enough from me :(

I should be out photographing the sunset, but it's just too comfy sitting here feeling the breeze through the window.

There will be another sunset comin' round.

Very moody skies lately. I love these kinds of views :)

New Pup

As I'm sure some of you remember, we lost Brock a few years ago. We finally decided to get another puppy.

This is Crash :)

Still Alive . . .

Gosh it's been awhile, eh?

Warmer summer then I remember, not so fun in a house with out AC, but the window unit does a pretty good job.
A few bear here and there, I think with this hot weather they're up high enjoying huckleberries :)
The fawn have started slowly showing up, hopefully more photos to come.

Not really a whole lot new around here. The gardens aren't do so well because of all the rain and cool weather we had at the beginning of the season, but the berries are great and I'll have tomatoes and romaine lettuce. Good thing I love Caesar salads :)
