Trouble & Trouble Jr.

Lazy Sunday

Me, Me, Me

I stole this from that "other" Leesa :)

I dream ... very strange dreams sometimes.

I cannot stand ... hate.

I stopped ... worrying if others like me.

I'm sorry ... I come off as insensitive sometimes.

I could ... go for a frappaccino right now.

I would ... do anything for someone who's loyal to me.

I don't understand ... prejudice.

I yell ... rarely.

I get aggravated ... when my computer acts up.

I'm shocked ... at the compliments I receive sometimes.

I dislike ... selfish people.

I can't wait ... to be able to travel again.

I sense ... the bear are going to be more trouble this year.

The Beast

This is the guy from this morning. I recognize the scar around his left eye.

Just A Peek...

It's been raining most of the day today, with small glimpses of sun, and small power outtages. It hasn't gotten over 60 today. Nice :)
I saw the beast last night, or this morning rather. As I was typing that 2am post, Brock started growling out the window. I got up, turned on the porch light and there he was. Big guy. He was just sitting there, probably wondering where the peanuts were.
I had to open and slam the door to get him to run off, and he did. No pics since it was so dark, but it was the big red bear I've posted before.

It's been a nice day. Quiet...not much to do with rain and no power. But still nice.
I was excited though to see what the sun provided for me in one peek....
First one of the season :)

Scavenger Hunt: Flower

Friday Follies

I went to bed at 10pm. That's early for me. Here I am at 2am, wide awake. Ugh.

Interesting day today. The bear took a 50# box of peanuts off the porch. I realize I had food on the porch, that's not the point. This was a sealed bag of peanuts in a taped up cardboard box, 50 pounds.
Usually, when they find a treasure like this, they break into it, drag it around a bit...you know. Not walk away with the ENTIRE box! Crazy.

I found it later down the hill abit. Seems he couldn't quite get the box open, so he chewed through a corner and had a little feast. I was able to save most of the bag. Of course then I had to carry an almost 50# bag uphill. Yeah, that was fun.

I tried to garden off and on between small rain storms. Seems I'm having one now and lost power once already. Also seems our weather is cooling back down. Thank you.

Lost Jigger for a small amount of time. Seems he can find the smallest spots to sleep and then not aknowledge me calling for him.

Oh and someone googled, "Leesa is the coolest" and found my blog.

Now that's cool :)

Peaceful Now

The hubs mother passed away this morning.
It was not sudden. It was expected. She was sick, she was unhappy, and she was ready to go.
He has dealt with three deaths in his family since I've known him. As some of you know, his son died a year ago March. His son's mother died this year. And now his own Mother.

These are all very strange emotions for me. I have never lost anyone close to me. Considering I'm not close to many, this is not strange. I didn't know my grandparents well enough to feel that loss. I didn't know hubs family well enough either.
Being in this position is confusing to me. You feel the pain for the person, but you can't actually "feel" the pain. I am not close to my mother, I don't know my father. I don't have children. The loss of his son was an intense thing to go through and he still has pain. I'm sure he always will. He's a different man since that happened.

I think today he feels relief. Grief of course, but relief. She had been unhappy and sick for a few years. Her husband had died 20 years before her, something she never got over.

I talked to him this morning and he sounds good.

May she finally rest in peace :)

Want to pick up chicks, guys?
Just walk through 2 airports and ride 2 flights carrying a kitten. Did you know it was so easy??

Hubs brought home a kitten last night from California. He had women all over him! I assumed he meant little kids, children...but nope. Women in the airport, and the flight attendants all wanted to see and pet the kitty. Funny :P

I couldnt' get a better pic yet as he won't sit still, but here he is. We haven't decided on a name yet, but we kind of like Jigger.

Hubs was on a detour last night through Montana and on his way back to Texas. His mother is not doing well, so he will be down there for awhile. I think I saw him for about 4 hours. Fun.

We got up to 90 yesterday, so we hauled in the small airconditioner. They say it might hit 95 here today...ugh. What's up with that?? Supposedly next week we will be back into the 70/80's so this is short lived thank goodness.
The sprinkler guys still aren't done, but I hope to get some gardening done anyway. The hand is much happier this morning.

With the confusion, hubs dropping by, and the new kitten, I hadn't even thought of a Thursday Thirteen. I'll just have to skip this week.
Maybe later I'll post 13 things this kitten has gotten into??

Heat, Healing, Birds & Bears

Well, it's officially bear time. They were here again last night. Luckily I brought in the surviving feeders, but they of course found other things to get into.

They ate the horses carrots and opened a big bag of horse cookies and drug it all over the front yard. Who knew they liked carrots??

The sprinkler guys are still in my yard, which ruins my whole gardening ambiance...so no gardening today. I like to hear the birds and water when I garden. Not men talking and loud machinery.
My hand is slowly healing...but if I put some padding and a glove on it..not so bad.
We're having an unusually hot week, got up to 86 yesterday which really heats up a house with all windows on one side. I know this isn't hot to most of you, especially you southerners, but in a house with no AC, it's hot. I don't like hot weather. Time for my little airconditioner I think :)

Hey, can I turn off the heater on the hot tub and make it a small swimming pool???

Leesa's Law

You've all heard of Murphy's Law right? Well I'm changing the law now. It's now Leesa's Law. From now on when you look in the dictionary, you will see my life.

Two things happened yesterday that forced me to make this decision.

First, we had beautiful weather the last couple of days, even getting into the 80's. So gardening was my main goal. A neighbor and I headed to the local nursery. I spent about $100 on flowers, seeds, etc.
I got all my stuff ready...my gardening gadgets, water, feed...you name it. I "usually" wear gloves when I garden, but chose not too this time because some of the plants I was dealing with were pretty delicate. After the first few, my hand slipped on the small shovel and the wooden handle ripped the skin off my palm. My right palm.
Ouch.
Yes..it hurts. And I had to stop gardening. Figures. Now I have three flats of flowers just waiting for me.

Second, I have guys working in my yard for a few days putting in sprinklers. And, as some of you know, I "usually" bring my bird feeders in at night so the bear don't tear them apart. I haven't had any issues with bear yet, and I knew the lawn guys would be here between 6 & 7, so I decided to just leave the feeders out just one night. Want to guess what happened??

Bear. Yep. Ate three of my wooden feeders.

So from now on, when you think of Murphy's Law...you will think of me.
It never fails :P

Monday Meme

#81 from my 100 Things About Me List : I was once grabbed by the neck by a dog.

I worked as a veterinary technician for about 14 years. The last 4 years I worked in an animal ER. It was an exciting job and I certainly saw some amazing stuff. I could go on and on about what pets can get into, or get hurt. I worked alot of surgery also.

Anyway, one night I was dealing with an Akita that was aggressive. We sedated him, of course, and had him lying on the floor. Once he was out (or so we thought), we picked him up to move him to a table. He was not completely out and his head was right below my neck. He jolted up and grabbed my neck with his mouth. He held on for a few seconds, but it felt like several minutes to me.

When he finally let go, I had two bite wounds in the bottom of my cheeks and two in my neck. Bleeding was lovely.
When I arrived at the emergency room, the nurses freaked out and took me right in. I guess blood running from your neck and down the front of your body looks scary.

I became a teaching course I think, since the doctors brought several students/interns in to see my wounds. They said I was pretty lucky since one tooth came very close to my jugular.
With dog bites, you usually just clean them and leave them open. Which they did.

Didn't I look pretty :) I did go back to work, even though I was told I didn't have too, because that's just who I am. I had to be very careful obviously with the open wounds, so I mainly worked in surgery for a couple of days. It slowly started turning yellow and blue and hurt more as the night went on. I have 4 small scars, not really noticeable.

I've been bit and scratched and thrown on my butt many times by animals, but that certainly was the scariest.

Tagged by HaleighAnne :) With the letter P.

This is how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.

Peace:
In a state of tranquillity; Free from strife. *Exactly the life I want, and mostly have. I don't want to hear traffic, or car alarms, or people. Peace, perfect.

Passion:
Ardent love. Strong sexual desire; lust. The object of such love or desire.
*I have many passions and believe everyone does. I could go many places with this, but I'll stick with photography ;) This I have a passion for and strive to do my best.

Praise:
To express warm approbation of, commendation for, or admiration for.
To extol or exalt; worship.*Something I believe we all really want, and we what we receive from true friends ;)

Photograph:
An image, especially a positive print, recorded by a camera and reproduced on a photosensitive surface. *I feel it's something you should be able to look at and feel. Enjoy. Jump in there and live it. A memory.

Persnickety:

Snobbish; pretentious.
Requiring strict attention to detail; demanding. *I just think this is a funny word :P

Presentation:

A source of enjoyment or delight.*Pleasure abounds...my home, my surroundings, my friends :) These bring me pleasure.

Plant:

(my hubs decided to join in and pick the last two..I guess because he thinks he's funny. So..I'll play along)

Picky:
adj : marked by extreme care in treatment of details; "a meticulous craftsman";
*he says I'm picky. Ok..maybe so. I'm picky on how my photos turn out. I'm picky about certain things I will eat. ok..I'll give him that one.

Pricey:
adj : having a high price; "costly jewelry"; "high-priced merchandise";
*he says I'm pricey...lol. I just told him that if you're going to spend money on something you enjoy, i.e. camera, stereo, tv..etc. You should get the best you can. What's wrong with that?? :)
I'll let him have that one too....lordy.

I have to say this is one of the hardest Meme's I've done in awhile. So friends...play along. I want to see what you'll come up with.

Still Working.....

Feeling kinda ick this morning?
Crabby, tired? Check This Mothers Day Video out. I almost had diet coke coming out of my nose :)

We got the veg garden planted yesterday, and all of my potted and hanging flowers done. Everything smells so nice :) I cleaned out two flower gardens, still have one to go. My body is so sore.
We went to the neighbors last night for dinner. Red beans and rice, yum.
Sat by the bonfire down by the creek and played horseshoes. Yep, horseshoes. I had never played this game, and it reminded me how bad I was at playing softball. I throw like a girl :P

More outside work to do today....
Pics to come ;)

Scavenger Hunt : Celebration

Call Me Rooster

Well I'm either getting old, or I'm set in a routine. Or maybe both.
I have the option when hubs is home to sleep in, and he'll do the chores.
But, it never seems to work that way. Hrmmph.

I'm up at 6am ( voluntarily) and I start the routine. The sun is rising and it's 33 degrees.
I'm awake fully now.
Now, I know I could put it off and let him do it when he gets up, but I just can't.
First, the outdoor cats of course see me moving around, so they're staring at me
through the door. Then, the deer and horses hear me coming in and out, so they give me that "Feed Me" look and so on. When I get back inside, the dogs and cats want their food too.
Then of course, all the bird feeders go back outside for the day. They're also waiting....
I actually grab my diet coke last! What's up with that??

*We're putting the garden in today. Bought all the veggies yesterday.
*I hope to go to a nursery in a neighboring town and get some flowers :)
*The bear seem to be everywhere, but they haven't started bothering me yet...whew!
*I don't have a Photo Scavenger shot today for "Celebration". If I think of something creative, I'll be back later.
*Oh and I was tagged with the Letter "P" recently, ya'll might know that Meme going around. It's taking me f-o-r-e-v-e-r! Geesh.

Oh I think I hear the hub stirring finally.....coffee anyone?

Pressie For Me

I ordered this today :)

As some of you might know, I live in the boonies. I don't get radio. Well actually I can get two stations in the car, that's it. Nothing in the house. The new truck that the Hubs stole from me came with satellite radio, but that doesn't do me much good. So..I'm jonesin'. Satellite radio in the house, and I can move it to the truck if I want.

Happy Dance:)

**oh and I found the Blue Collar Comedy radio station today. Lovin' it.**

Photo Friday: Masterpiece

This is one of my faves...I sat for quite a while taking pictures of this guy.
So, to me, this is a Masterpiece.

Big Softie

The hubs has been telling me for the last couple of weeks that he wants to see King Kong.
I expressed my non-desire (is that a word?) in seeing it many times. I know what happens, I know how it ends. No thanks.

So, guess what's on pay-per-view last night? Yep. King Kong.
I figured, well, I'm chatting online so I'll just ignore it. Yeah right.
I will say that the animation was pretty cool, and I loved the interaction
between the girl and the beast. But the rest was just awful. I really tried to
stay focused on the computer.

The hubs fell asleep (shocker) when kong was on the empire state building.
I turned it off. It really brought me down.
I know it's just a movie, and I know I'm a weanie.
But that's the reason why I don't watch movies like that.

And before you ask...
NO...I've never seen Old Yeller.
Never will.

Rough Life

Changes

Everythings changing...

Like the new look?? I LOVE it:)
Out with the snow for now...I did love it so. It will be back I'm sure.

Things are growing now, almost time to plant. I'm so ready to hit the nursery and start picking out flowers and bushes. Tomorrow night is a full moon, and the last freeze...yay:)
The grass is finally getting to a point that it might need to be mowed.
The bear are still on the other side of the creek, do you think the waters too cold??
Silly bears.

The hubby had to head back to Texas from CA this week, his mother is back in the hospital. He's absolutely miserable with the heat and humidity there. He's gotten spoiled by this Montana weather. No humidity, thank goodness.

I've had wood ducks in the yard everyday, they are so beautiful. They are also keen to me being here and won't let me take their photo. I'm going to have to dress in camo I guess and slink through the yard on my belly.

Blank Canvas

I've been staring at a blank page for quite awhile now. What to write?
I'm reminded of
a post that I read yesterday.

Michael says, "There are days that I feel like I am throwing words up on a canvas and watching how they splash on my canvas. Maybe there will be some pretty color combinations. Pure randomness perhaps? Or design explaining a relationship?"

Exactly. Each morning I start a post wondering how it's all going to come out in the end. Is it going to make sense? Does it matter if it makes sense? Will I like it? Will you?
I've always wanted to take cans of paint and throw them up against a blank canvas. Maybe that's the way to open up in my posts. Just throw it out there and see what comes out.
Leave it the way it is and call it art.

But, knowing me, I'll dibble and dabble with it. Fix this, fix that. Delete. No wait...changed my mind.
Save.
As.
Draft.
No..Publish.
Proofread.
Edit.
Publish Again.

That's what I do with my photos. I see something I can maybe tweak. Brighten. Darken.
Crop. Adjust. Resize.

I'm rambling now.
Creative ramble I will call it :)
Yep. I'm done for now.
Creativity makes you tired.

Thank You's

I have many thanks to give out to my friends. I've received some awesome gifts and emails from fellow bloggers and I'm so touched:) I've decided to keep the items and names to myself, but you know who you are.
This is the last pic of Bustopher taken, I actually took it the morning he died. I just downloaded it yesterday. He was rolling in the dirt like he always did every morning.

Today is dark, gloomy and rainy...I'm actually impressed I have power. But, I love it. It's just one of those chilly days when you want to cuddle on the couch with a big blankie. Not much work to do outside obviously, so I think I'll just play with my camera:)

And below, just to brighten the day, some flowers I received...

More Sunday Mutter...

So this weekend...

I worked in the gardens more yesterday, getting them cleaned up and ready to plant. You asked what we're planting in the veg garden??
The hubs dedicates two boxes to onions and jalepenos. We also grow bell peppers, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, pickling cucumbers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, cauliflower and broccoli. We might try potatoes this year also. I also (obviously) have strawberries and rasberries. I have blueberry and blackberry bushes but they didn't so hot last year, but I did get some tips for better growth this year.

I have one flower garden planned for only butterfly attracting flowers and bushes.
I so far have bleeding heart, daffodils, bee balm, tiger lily and tulips starting to show up :)
I planted two dogwood and two sugar maple trees last year...they are slowly starting to bud. AND....looks like the rose bushes are getting some green on them.

For the next few days we have chances of snow overnight, so of course I can't plant anything new, I will have to wait until after the last freeze, which is usually the last full moon of the month. It drives me crazy to wait so long to plant!

It's 45 and rainy today, so I won't be spending anytime outside.
I have 8 addresses right now for Jam, and will hopefully package up and send out this week :) I plan to send one of each flavor, rasberry and strawberry. If you sent me your address and have a different preference, let me know :)

I do have some new photos I took yesterday, just need to download...
More to come :)

The River

Climbing under
a barbed wire fence
by the railroad ties
climbing over
the old stone wall

I am bound for the riverside
where I go to the river
to soothe my mind
ponder over
the crazy days of my life

just sit and watch the river flow
find a place
on the riverbank
the green rushes grow

see the wind
in the willow tree
in branches hanging low
ease my mind & soul

where i go

well I will go to the river
from time to time
wander over
these crazy days in my mind

watch the river flow
where the willow branches grow
by the cool rolling waters
moving gracefully and slow

child it's lovely
let the river take it all away
the mad pace, the hurry
the troubles, the worries
just let the river take them all away
flow away

Dreams

Okay, here's another one:

I'm outside, bringing the birdfeeders in for the night, when a bear walks up. He seems to be approaching me pretty quickly so I run for the house. IN.SLOW.MOTION. The bear is at normal speed and I'm In.Slow.Motion.

I did make it to the house. The minute I opened the door I woke up.

I had that dream again last night. Remember the one where I'm in school, and I can't remember where my locker is, what the combo is, or where my classes are? Well I had it again last night. But...

This time, when I finally figured them all out, I wrote it all down and put it in my purse. What does that mean??

I'll probably lose my purse in the next dream :)

Chilly Chat

Today's been an off day. I can't quite pinpoint it, but it is. It was a nice day, but still a little chilly, 31 degrees when I got up this morning. The birdbath still freezes at night.

I went to bed last night at 9pm...which is about 3-4 hours earlier than normal. I think I was so wasted from the last two days. Sorrow can be draining :(

We wound up with 60 jars of jam. I need to find the right packaging and I will start shipping off, so send me your mailing address if you'd like some :) If you click on Leesa at the bottom of this post if gives my email address. I have strawberry and rasberry. It is sooooo tasty :P

We finally have wood ducks! We had two wandering around the yard yesterday, but they are so quick...I have to be actually waiting on the porch if I want a photo. I hope to get them soon. Above you see our two turtles :) I've started hearing the frogs too, which is a wonderful sound at night, I love it. I absolutely love this peace.

I'm on my own for the next 8 days, so of course you know there will be some kind of drama...be expecting bear pics....or some kind of menacing problem.
I watched Flightplan the other day on PPV...pretty good:) I'm impressed if a movie can keep me intrigued..not many do.

The hubs still wants to get me a kitten. I'm thinking Mungojerrie or Rumpleteazer...what do you think ?? :)

**update..ok..a few more name choices :P Griddlebone, Sillabub, Grizabella or tumblebrutus :)** ( Thanks to Shephard for the list :)

Why I Love Montana

(Stolen from David.)

A man decided to write a book about famous churches around the world. So he bought a plane ticket and took a trip to Orlando, thinking that he would start by working his way across the USA from South to North.

On his first day he was inside a church taking photographs when he noticed a golden telephone mounted on the wall with a sign that read “$10,000 per call”. The man, being intrigued, asked a priest who was strolling by what the telephone was used for. The priest replied that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 you could talk to God.

The man thanked the priest and went along his way.

Next stop was in Atlanta . There, at a very large cathedral, he saw the same golden telephone with the same sign under it. He wondered if this was the same kind of telephone he saw in Orlando and he asked a nearby nun what its purpose was. She told him that it was a direct line to heaven and that for $10,000 he could talk to God. ” O.K., thank you,” sa id the man.

He then traveled to Indianapolis , Washington DC , Philadelphia , Boston ,and New York . In every church he saw the same golden telephone with the same “$10,000 per call” sign under it. The man, upon leaving New York decided to travel out west to see if western states had the same phone.

He arrived in Montana , and again, in the first church he entered, there was the same golden telephone, but this time the sign under it read “40 cents per call.” The man was surprised so he asked the priest about the sign. “Father, I’ve traveled all over America and I’ve seen this same golden telephone in many churches. I’m told that it is a direct line to Heaven, but in the east and south the price was $10,000 per call. Why is it so cheap here?

The priest smiled and answered, “You’re in Montana now, son,… it’s a local call”.

Bustopher

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts:) It was SO nice to see after such a crummy day and evening. I think I wrote yesterdays post in a daze...as I hardly remember it.

I was surrounded by people outside and just couldn't truly express myself, I felt the need to just write it here.

I didn't sleep well at all last night. I have these images running through my mind of his last moments and it's just horrible. I realize I need to quit thinking that, but it's hard. As usual you have all the "what if's" going through your head.

I do realize that I take these chances when I have cats that go outside, especially where I live. But, Bustopher was SO happy outside. He was a happy cat. The way he died truly breaks my heart :(

So, anyway, to keep from depressing ya'll too much....
We did not go to Polson yesterday, the vet we were supposed to meet had to change plans. So we just took a scenic drive around town and did a few things. So, no real exciting pics and no kitten yet.

I think I'll work in the garden today :)

Oh and shout out Happy Birthday to
Marianna!!!

Bustopher, Rest in Peace :(

Sadness here today :(
Bustopher was found dead in our pond. Most likely killed by two dogs.
He came here with me from Texas, he was the sweetest thing around. Everybody loved him. He will be terribly terribly missed :(

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear.
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wished I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today you tend it with such care
I want to reassure you I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house as you fumbled for your key,
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."

You looked so very tired and then you sank into a chair,
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday
And say with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew
that in that stillness of that evening I was very close to you.

The day is over...I smile and watch you yawning
And say, "Goodnight, sweet dreams, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide
I'll rush to greet you and we'll stand together side-by-side.

I have so many things to show you, there's much for you to see.

Be patient, live your journey out
Then come home and be with me.

Watcher

I got this shot yesterday. It's certainly not one of my best, he was SO far away and I had my biggest lens on it's longest setting. But, I still love it :)

Monday Mutter

No Monday Meme today, I just don't feel like thinking that much.

We got most of the jam made yesterday, until we ran out of stuff. I think we have about 20-something jars of strawberry or rasberry jam. Good Stuff! It says to let it sit for 2 weeks, so I figure I'll start mailing out within a week, and then you just have to let it sit for a week :)

We're driving to Polson, MT today. The hubs is meeting with another veterinarian who needs his help with some orthopedic surgeries. Two hour drive, but I'm hoping to get some good photos AND there's a nice little shelter out there where I might find a kitten :)

We had a cold grey rainy wintry-type day yesterday, never got over 44. Today looks like the sun is going to bless us, even though it is about 32 right now.

Oh and I also got a lesson on the guns in the house yesterday. Yesss, I know, I have guns and don't know anything about them. I do know how to turn the safety off and fire. I didn't really know much more than that, so the hubs taught Gun 101. I'll have to tell ya'll all about that later though.

Oh and dinner last night? Vegetarian stuffed cabbage rolls, sent to me by Top Cat. They were great! Tonight I think we are going to attempt Eggplant Parmesan, another recipe sent to me by Stacie.

Well, that's it for me. Ya'll have a great day :)
