Wrap Up

I've been stuck on my laptop all day. My PC is having problems and being looked at. :(
I shouldn't complain really since I'm lucky enough to have a backup, but this laptop doesn't have many programs on it, and none of my photos. I can't even get onto some of my messengers. Uggh.

I've got a buyer for my Canon 20D, I'm very excited about that :)
These little hands might be holding a 5D one day soon!! I've actually made some money off of some of my photos and then add the sale price for the 20D, and it's not too bad a difference.
Happy Dance:)

I haven't taken many photos lately, the weather has just been so unpredictable and I've barely seen the sun in a month. The animals have learned what the camera is and some even run from me. I seriously need a vacation. I went out today to attempt to take pics of our frozen pond, but the snow was so wet and heavy I didn't want to get my camera that wet.

My lights died in the barn again tonight. I'm once again feeding horses by flashlight. This annoys me, I should have added it to my 13 list. It's snowing tonight, this makes me happy. There's something about watching the flakes fall against the outside lights. It's almost hypnotizing if you stare at them long enough.

Critter has decided that he likes to push around the dogs big water bowl. Yeah, this is real cute (sarcasm here). I have a very large bowl, if ya'll have seen Brock you would understand, and Critter pushes his toys underneath it. He then spends the day pushing this bowl around the house to get the toy. Wet floors, wet cat and wet yucky toys. Did I say he was cute?
He even pushed it down the stairs today. Yep, that was real cute too.

Do you guys know what a civil emergency is? I didn't. Not until today.
I have this Weatherbug on my computer that tells me the weather and alerts me of severe weather, etc. Recently it popped up a civil emergency. I ignored it. eeeks.

I found out today it means someone escaped from a prison and is loose. Ohhhh, niiiiice.
On top of that, I had someone come to my door today telling me that they had an "escapee" from one of the schools for troubled teens around here. Oh yay. (sarcasm again).

Ahhh, but tomorrows another day.
I won't have my computer back:(
But it's going to keep snowing:)
And I'm determined to take some photos.

Anyone want a silly wet cat?

Thinking Too Late

I'm sitting here as usual in the middle of the night, in bed, laptop in my lap, and watching TV. For some reason, delirium maybe, I'm really paying attention to the commercials.....

*How many people actually dance around when they drink a coke?
Or when they are eating a powerbar? Or chocolate?? I am a huge lover of chocolate, but I don't dance around when I eat it.
*And how do they get the girls hair on the pantene commercials to look that good? I use expensive shampoo and my hair never looks that good. And yes, I have used pantene...it still didn't look like it was made of silk.
*Which made me recall that STUPID commercial with the Hallmark snowman that plays the piano. Yes, he's cute...but I so hated that all are gathered around him at a party singing and laughing at him, and clapping, and then wanting him to play again! Give me a break.
*Or how about the M&M's and the chocolate bar that are laying by the fire in the log cabin, that wind up melting and becoming one....geesh.
*I won't even start with the hemmoroid commercials. (I'm sure this will get me some good hits)
*Do any of YOU dance around the house with the Swiffer?? I really want to know :)
*Did you know there are baked cheetos??? This is the first I've heard of this.

Must.check.into.that.

Okay enough with the commercials.
It's snowing again tonight. It never got over 35 today.
Yum, they are eating chocolate cake on Roseanne...they aren't dancing around though.
Chocolate cake sounds really good right now.
I've got nothing else.

Now I need to go have a red bull and fly away.
You know, because it gives you wings :)

5 Random Facts

I've been tagged with 5 Random Facts by Mel :)

I think I've done this before, but don't feel like searching to find out. So, here's 5 random facts about me:

1. I hate wrinkles. I will even iron my pillowcases if they are wrinkled. I can't wear wrinkled clothes at all, even if I'm home all day and no one sees me.
2. I'm the same about matching. Even if I'm home and nobody sees me, I still have to match.
3. I usually eat my food one item at a time, like If I have meat and veggie, I will eat the veggie first then the meat, not alternately or together.
4. I very rarely use a glass for my drinks. I drink cokes out of a can and beer/water out of bottles. I never drink beer out of a glass or mug.
5. I can't sleep without some kind of noise going on. I need a fan definitely, and then either the TV or a sleep machine. If none of these are available, I will hear everything and I can't sleep. I definitely can't sleep with complete silence.

**Maybe those should have been weird facts and not random...hmmmmmmm

Never A Dull Moment

With all the rain we've had lately, our little area had a mudslide today. Actually two houses away. My pictures don't even do it justice but it was pretty wild. Two very large trees just fell and slid down a hill, landing pretty close to our neighbors house. The pic of that tall tree you see, that tree is cracked and ready to go too. The scary thing is this tree could possible hit their house.

We went over this afternoon to see if there was any way of helping in taking care of the tree before it decides to fall, but the ground is so unstable all we could do was sit there an stare at it. It is still raining tonight and more rain due tomorrow. Uggh. Scary.

Luckily we are up high, so if anything slides it should be below us.
Hopefully.

To Remember Me

*I was talking to the hubs about the subject below.
He recommended I look into it and make my wishes known.
I thought what better way then to have it right here!
Now you all will know what I want.* :)

Remember Me

At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has
ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my
life has stopped.

When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life
into my body by the use of a machine. And don't call this my
deathbed. Let it be called the Bed of Life, and let my body
be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.

*Give my sight to the man who has never seen a
sunrise, a baby's face or love in the eyes of a
woman.
*Give my heart to a person whose own heart has
caused nothing but endless days of pain.
*Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled
from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live
to see his grandchildren play.
*Give my kidneys to one who depends on a
machine to exist from week to week.
*Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and
nerve in my body and find a way to make a
crippled child walk.
*Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if
necessary, and let them grow so that, someday, a
speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat
and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against
her window.
*Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to
the winds to help the flowers grow.
*If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my
weaknesses and all prejudice against my fellow
man.
*Give my sins to the devil.
*Give my soul to God.
*If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with
a kind deed or word to someone who needs you.
If you do all I have asked, I will live forever:)

Give Me A Hand

Weird pictures, eh? Can you tell what they are? They match my really weird day.
Last night it snowed about 4 inches. It was lovely.
Today, it rained. It rained and rained and rained. Turned that lovely snow into 4 inches of slush. It is such a mess. I've had quite the time dealing with the chores outside. I've lost power several times today and the longest time was a little over 2 hours. Uggh.

I refuse to reset the clocks again.

Tonight on my visit to feed the horses, my shoes sunk into the cold, icy, gathering, pooling water in the barn. Again, lovely. Oh it was also completely dark out there since my lights went out. Try walking in a flooding barn with a flashlight and hay in your hands.
What a kodak moment that was.
As I was walking back out of the barn to head to the house, I heard something run by me. It really scared the bajeezus out of me. It was too big to be one of my cats. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a deer, because they hang around to see if I'm going to feed them.
I stayed in the garage for a bit just to see if I could see anything. One creepy thing about using a flashlight here at night is that you always see some kind of glowing eyes looking at you. It's pretty wild.
I finally slushed my way back to the house. I'm wide awake now:)

I've heard some of the bear are waking up. Could have been a mountain lion too, but I have yet to see one in the three years I've been here. They are here, but I just haven't seen one. Maybe it was raccoons. We have many of those, maybe the slush just made them sound bigger. Right?? Sure, yeah it was a raccoon. That's my story and I'm stickin' with it.

Ahhh...the thrills of living in the forest:) Wild Animals.
Oh and those are painted hands up there. Cool, eh?

Warning...Girly Post Ahead

Laura recently posted on how she purchased ( or at least I think she purchased) Bare Escentuals makeup.

I decided to check it out too and I'm so impressed! I received my package today
and I'm quite impressed with the make-up.
For one thing, being a redhead, makes it hard to find colors that work well with my skin. Also, my eyes are brown, not green or blue, and I'm not as light skinned as most redheads. So, it's hard to find makeup sometimes.

This makeup is all in powder form, which I really like. I've never been a fan of liquid foundations. Always felt thick and yucky.
The colors are great, and the bronzers are just perfect. Yay, for me.
Not that I even wear makeup much these days, but it's exciting to have something I'm very comfortable with for when I do wear it.

I also purchased
this at Origins, another one of my favorite places. They have awesome skin care products, especially the Perfect World line. I own most of these products now and love them.

One other place I purchase makeup is
Redheads Fancy. This place makes makeup especially for redheads. I wasn't so crazy about the foundations etc, but they do have great mascaras and lipsticks. Mascara was another hard one since black just looks horrible with my complexion. Lipstick is a whole notha story....

So anyway. There it is. I know any man reading this is now thrilled about what kind of makeup products I use. But, hey, I warned you early on that this was a girly post :)

Cool :)

Nothing to Say & Something to Say

Well once again I sit here with nothing to say. I guess I'm having bloggers block.
I'ts 32 this morning and lightly snowing.
Bustopher is outside irritating the deer, which in turns make them stomp their feet at him. It's a pretty funny sight to see, but hard to catch on camera.

I loved all the responses I got on the "lurking" post, and as usual you all have good answers. I do however think I was misunderstood just a bit.

I do realize that there are lurkers, I have been known to be one too. I usually at least make myself known every now and then, but may not comment always. Usually that is because the subject matter just doesn't pull an interesting comment out of me. I'm not always the best at wording myself right. So, in turn I don't say anything. Plus, I'd like to have pretty good knowledge on a subject before I voice my opinion.

I'm fully aware I have lurkers who don't comment, that's what Statcounter tells you. And I'm okay with that. I actually like Statcounter because it just shows you how many people read, and where they come from, sometimes I think it's just interesting.
But, I guess my whole intention of my last post was that I think if it's a friend, or just an aquaintance, what would be the reason not to say, "Hey, I see you have a blog!"..."Just wanted to let you know I've been checking it out."....how hard is that?

Again, I don't talk about my friends or family much. I've really only used one friends name in here, and she knows. I've never discussed her personal life, and If I were going to, I would let her know and make sure it was okay. That's mostly why you don't see any names of friends or stories about them.
I don't reveal secrets or talk ugly about anyone, so I really have nothing to worry about and will blog as normal. But it was just something that bothered me at the moment and still will a little. I will probably just keep an eye and see if they keep coming back or not. If they disappear, then who knows??

Wow, and I thought I had nothing to say today! My fingers have just been tapping along here like crazy.
Anyway, enough of that, I will not worry about it anymore.

I did find a quote I liked yesterday though, and will end with it....

"Don't bother being resentful. It allows someone you don't like to live in your head rent free."

Invasion?

I've been reading a few blogs where people have had family or friends find their blogs and then giving them hell for it, or sharing it with everyone else they knew.
I've always felt for them considering they really put personal things on there not meant for some people to read. But, you take that chance when writing things on the internet.
I've never been too worried considering I don't put that much personal stuff in here, no big secrets.

BUT..for awhile now I've noticed someone visiting from an area in Texas, which is where I used to live. I ignored it for awhile since I have readers from everywhere, but I decided to research the ip address to see where it was coming from. Statcounter is a great thing isn't it? Statcounter basically tells you where they are coming from. I traced it to the exact areas I used to live and work. Hmmm.
I guess it could be someone I know, and I guess it's no big deal, BUT... the idea of someone reading it for this long and not telling me really bugs me. I guess I could do a better more detailed search if I wanted.

Do ya'll think it's invasion, even though you put your information on the internet, and someone you know reads it without telling you?? I want opinions here.
I could be totally wrong here, but either way, it's an odd coincidence.

It's not like I have to sensor myself, because I don't think I share anything on here that is overly secret anyway. But, I guess if I'm right, the sneakiness really really irks me. So now, when I do write, do I have to think first what I'm saying? I'm not very happy about this.

Hmmph.

Mad Cow

Check out this story about the runaway cow. Pretty cute!

Butterfly Ball

Blah

I've been staring at this monitor for 20 minutes. Have you ever done that?
It's like you want to say something but nothing is coming out.
I woke up with a headache that just won't go away. I crawled out of bed
this morning around 6-ish, said bye to the hubs and took some Ibuprofen. I Let my dogs
out, stocked the fire and crawled back into bed. It's cold and grey and some sort
of ice rain is falling. It's icky.

I finally crawled out of bed around 10-ish, with some really pissed off horses and
a lingering headache. So here I sit.
We're under a winter storm warning, of course. The hubs just left for Dallas, so it's only fitting that I would get a storm warning :)

On a brighter note,
Laura and I have decided to form a gang. Yep, that's right. Not an evil gang, but a graffiti gang. We'll get tattoo's, and wear our jeans low over our boxers and get cool nicknames.
I haven't decided mine yet, any ideas??

She has started her own form of stencil art and it's pretty cool, check it out! I think she's already recruited a few members.
Of course I'm a little worried about her around all of that spray paint, she was kind of goofy last night. Well, I guess she's always goofy, eh? Bwaaaaaa.

Okay, I've bored ya'll enough. Hope all have a good day, and maybe I'll go play with some circle art.
That should really help a headache!! Spinning flowers in bright colors. :)

Flower Ball

Today's Menu

Appetizer:
Have you ever seen a ghost or an angel? Yes, a ghost for sure. I was staying at a friends, who happen to sleep in a white nightgown. I saw her get up in the middle of the night and walk down the hallway to the kitchen. I got up to follow, figuring snacks were involved, and she wasn't there. I went back down the hallway and she was asleep in her room. I had then heard that the previous owner had passed away in the house. A little creepy but kind of cool.

Soup:
What is your favorite board game? Gosh, too many. Scrabble, Taboo, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit. Rarely get to play though, the hubs hates board games.

Salad:
What was the last movie you saw that made you cry? I've gotten more sensitive as I've gotten older, so it doesn't take much, but Steel Magnolias was on the other day. Enough said.

Main Course:
What would you do if you had 3 months off from your job? Well I don't work, but if I had 3 months away from the house I would travel and take photographs. I'd love to go to Alaska and photograph the eagles and moose. There's also a wildlife refuge in Montana that I would love to hang out for awhile and photograph. But, it's pretty costly.

Dessert :
What kind of shoes are you wearing today? Ugg Boots. Perfect shoes for here. They work inside and out, they keep my feet completely warm and they withstand water and snow. :)

Perception

The process, act, or faculty of perceiving.
The effect or product of perceiving.
Psychology.
Recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli based chiefly on memory.
The neurological processes by which such recognition and interpretation are effected.
Insight, intuition, or knowledge gained by perceiving.
The capacity for such insight.

I've been thinking alot the last couple of weeks on the word perception.
How we perceive others. I would like to think that we all hope to meet someone (male, female--doesn't matter) and know that they are a good person. Genuine. Trustworthy. Honest.

But in the real world we know this isn't true. We have all been fooled at one time or another.
No matter what kind of lives we've had, we want to trust. We want that special friendship or relationship. Many times we open ourselves up for disappointment.

I'm not saying this is always the case by any means. But, we do all experience this at one time or another. I am one, which I can admit, that has not always been one to trust so easily. This all stems from childhood on into young adulthood. But even at my most untrusting times, I can admit that I still wanted so badly that special friendship. The ones you see on TV or movies. The ones you watch and say, "Wow, I wish I had friends like that."
I used to say this all the time when I watched
Sex and The City. They all were completely honest and shared everything, good or bad. I loved that show.

Again I'm not saying that I don't have some good friends now, or haven't had good relationships in the past, BUT...even as strong as I think I am today, I still come across people I want so badly to see that goodness in, and it's not there.
As some of you know, that have read for awhile, I've always considered myself like an M&M. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. But then I waver on that sometimes thinking it might be the other way around. I've had many tell me I'm hard on the inside.

What do you do when you can't change something like that? Does it just happen?
Does someone just come along one day and blow you away? Break away that shell?
I'm 37 now ( and I know that's not old) and it still hasn't happened. I still want to trust and open up, but then find myself disappointed in the end. Then, I'm embarrassed that I let myself, once again, be fooled. Was it me, or them? Is it my fault?
I tend to blame myself everytime. I did something wrong. I said something wrong.

Am I the fool for believing in someone and opening up??
Or, am I completely innocent and it's the other persons fault??

Perception. Do any of us really have it?

I thought I had finally gained perception. I really believed that I had finally started to
figure people out. But, I was wrong. Hmmph.

My husband asked me today about the blogging and online chatting. He just didn't get it.
He has no problems with it, mind you....but he just didn't get the attraction.
He doesn't read my blog, or any for that matter. He doesn't online chat, or if he does it's a quick two sentences and he's done.

I tried to explain to him the people I have met through blogging and chatting.
Some GREAT people. Some GREAT friends. People I know I will be involved with for many
many years. I have met some people here that have literally changed my perception of people for the better.
I think this, and he agreed, was such an easy way for me to meet people. It's safe. I can figure you out. I can talk to you as much as I want, or as little as I want. I don't have to let you in.
But, I do. I let you in with this blog. I let you in with THIS post. I open up to you in IM messages. I eventually tell you who I am. What I'm about. I have found alot of us have alot in common. My perception worked well:)

But even through this IM mask, we can still meet those that are not who they seem. And that disappoints me. They disappoint me and I disappoint me.

This is not a negative post by any means, I have had alot of great experiences through this blog that way outnumber the bad.

Thank You :)

Move Forward

To dream anything that you want to dream, that is the beauty of the human mind.
To do anything that you want to do, that is the strength of the human will.

Call Me Kate

What Classic Dame Are You?

Katharine Hepburn

You scored 16% grit, 19% wit, 42% flair, and 28% class!

You are the fabulously quirky and independent woman of character. You go your own way, follow your own drummer, take your own lead. You stand head and shoulders next to your partner, but you are perfectly willing and able to stand alone. Others might be more classically beautiful or conventionally woman-like, but you possess a more fundamental common sense and off-kilter charm, making interesting men fall at your feet. You can pick them up or leave them there as you see fit. You share the screen with the likes of Spencer Tracy and Cary Grant, thinking men who like strong women.
Find out what kind of classic leading man you'd make by taking the Classic Leading Man Test.

If you liked my test, send it to your friends!

Me First!

It's pretty dark and snowy out today so these aren't the best shots, but I couldn't resist trying to catch these two playing. They both wanted inside this bird house, but only one would go in at time. Very cute :)

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance,
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance.

I'm tagging anyone who is interested, especially Stephanie.
